Is it just me or does anyone else notice that anyone he is playing man with he gives them a 5-7 yard gap? I mean I understand if we are playing cover 2 or cover 3 obviously no one gets behind him, but he gives them sooo much room its ridiculous. We pay him shut down corner money, however in my opinion he doesn't produce, and never really has.

Was about to start the same thread... Gamble has looked very bad today. I know Hill runs a 4.3 40, but he has been beating #20 like a drum all night. Gamble's night would have looked a lot worse could Hill actually, you know, catch the ball.

IDK if it's something with our scheme tonight, but it is definitely worrisome, as he is our only proven corner. Though, on the same token, I have been pretty impressed with the play of Norman. He just looks like he has it.

This quote is fugging retarded. Either the OP was in a coma last year (and most of Gamble's career) or they are actually an over-reacting 12 year old girl. (Where's Grits/Popcorn/NineLives? Isn't that his area of expertise?)

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
