The Packers, Giants, and Saints** lost the first game as well. All were at home and all lost by more points than carolina did on the road. I guess none of them are going to the playoffs either.

And all those teams are still going to get 50 times more national respect than the Panthers. We wonder why there were so many people picking the Bucs over us, it's because they know the Panthers aren't consistent one bit.

Every week there will always be some good teams with a loss. So we should get comfort form?

The New York Giants lost their first game last year to the Washington Redskins 28-14 (a team that finished 5-11). At one point in the middle of the season where they lost 4 straight games. They finished the season 1 game above .500.

They eventually won the Super Bowl.

Everyone calm the fug down.

Like your enthusiasm but that's called an exception to the rule.

the fact that carolina had no rushing game at all and still had a chance to win at the end, is awesome imo. past years, this would have been a blow out 42-0. The game was a grudge match between 2 division rivals. Was a good game, we didnt win but it was a good game to watch anyways.

They finished 2 games over at 9-7 and wouldn't have even made the playoffs except for the fact that their division sucked. If they were in the NFC south they would not have made it in as a wild card. With our division the way it is we can't afford to lose to these shitty teams and still have any chance at the playoffs. 9-7 isn't going to get it done most years. And after yesterday that is being optimistic anyway.

    • I agree with OP notion, QBs always get credited for game winning drives even if they do minimal. Just last night Caleb got credited for a GE drive when they basically ran the ball the whole drive and only had to go 36 yards.   And there are drives where Bryce could of had a game winning drive if not for a Legette drop vs Philly or a Chubba fumble vs Tampa
    • You are actually, genuinely comparing Bryce to Jimmy fuging Pickles? Jimmy accounted for 3 touchdowns in his 10 starts in 2010. In Bryce’s 10 games post benching last year, he accounted for 20 touchdowns. Jimmy threw three touchdowns in 2010. Three. Bryce has thrown 10 touchdowns through 6 games. He is currently on track to throw for 3300 yards, 28 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Wtf are we even talking about anymore. I mean seriously
    • Tepper? The guy that directs the coaches towards goals that he set for them… that guy. He is the one.    I don’t think he ever was going to be expelled from class, they had him come in for garbage time maybe the 2nd week he was benched.  I will say this. People said he wasn’t under pressure the last part of the year when he did better, but he was fighting for his career and that’s pressure. And he saved his career too. I don’t reject him for those kinds of things I reject him for the physical things. I have always brought it down to he has slim margin for error and has to be perfect. People with the tool set have a little fatter margin for error. Why make it harder on yourself? Got nothing to do with hating him.  I am no statistician but game that margin thing out a lot and see how that works.
