Go on record with your Hurney feelings here

and then we will all know that you called it or been saying your feelings for however long you have had them. This will the eliminate the need for you to go derail other threads or make new ones each week spewing the same arguments we have heard you make about him before.

If he extends someone elses contract or a trade is made then its fair game to evaluate that individual move, but all the other tired arguments need to be put to bed until the offseason.

As for my feelings on Hurney I will stand by the fact that I like him as I believe he has done more good than harm.I don't blindly like every move he's made(I have a beef with a few of them)others are still tbd at this point, but at the end of the day he's done enough good to outweigh the harm at this point.

I am not going to defend this statement in this thread nor do I care to talk about him again during the season. I have made my argument for him in many other threads and you can use the search button if you care to hear it.

I have never had that much of a problem with Hurney. I know he isn't the best but whatever. I think his time may be coming to an end here soon though. Everything has to come to an end eventually. I think we probably should have gotten a new GM when we got a new coach and everything. With the change of philosophy and things different then what it was in the Fox days, I just think we need a different style of GM. One that is aggressive going after FAs and one that is a lot better at drafting. Someone like the Patriots GM.

I don't have a real problem with Hurney. We have a lot of young talent that is locked up for the next several seasons. I'm not a fan of the huge contracts we give out to our own, but I love the thought process behind it. I really feel we're in a good place right now and a lot of that is because of Hurney.

Perfect? Far from it, but it could be a lot worse.

Hahaha you had to go find a thread I had made?

At least my drunk posting is better than the most asked question of all time on the huddle..

    • If we don't go OT, we will regret it.  What bothers me?  Are we going to get a starting-caliber OT at 19?  I think the draft is solid at OT, and the more I read up and watch video, the more I watch Lomu, the more I want him.   I see Freeling as a RT who needs some work in run blocking (since we need to run first, maybe not a good fit) and I see Proctor ending up as a Guard.  After Lomu (assuming Mouigia and fanu are gone), I think we wait until round 2.  In round 2, there are about 3-4 I like (Zuhn--good pass blocker and VERY underrated right now; Tiernan is a very good pass blocker as is Miller from Clemson, but both are not good in the run game.  Max Ixxxxx from Ariz St is impressive too---technically, there is not a of difference in these second tier guys--good in pass pro, need work in the run game.   If we wait until round 2 for an OT, we probably need to sign Nijman and start him early.   I almost think this is what we should do if Lomu is gone.  There is a big dropoff after him, imo, and I think we'd get better value if a stud ILB or edge is there.  Someone like TJ Parker Clemson makes sense. If Lomu is gone, trading back might be the play.
    • And what is x gunna help with except show him what not to do. Plus for the first year and a half he was just an obstacle
    • I understand that some people want WR. I am solidly against using yet another high pick there. Coker is pretty good and we used No picks on him.  What I think we really need at WR is a little bit of a Smitty lite. It is ridiculous to say let’s get a Smitty because you just can’t do that, but someone not tall and long striding but more in his mold. I think we’d have a pretty well rounded group.    Looking at tackle, with replacing Moton looming, it just seems like the no brainer.  You fill in Icky short term. Depending on how he recovers, and how the new guy plays, you go from there. A tackle at 19 is most likely either a LOT, a ROT, or a big talented guard, at worst. We will need all three in the next couple of years.  I would love to have a stud ILB be there at 19 but the OL is the responsible thing to do I believe.
