I feel around .500 about Hurney

Me too. He's done some good and some bad.

I loved this draft, but it's too early to see who was right and who was wrong. Should it not turn out to be a good one, then I would say it's time to go in a different direction. No team can survive bad draft after bad draft, especially when they aren't significant players in FA.

But again, I think this draft will turn out to be good enough to quiet the skeptics a bit.

I'm just tired of the same arguments constantly derailing other threads and being posted as a new thread as if its some novel concept or new idea. We have heard all the things for and against Hurney a million times over...yet many feel the need to pollute other threads with the same argument as if we didnt hear them or in this case read them a thousand times before.

This way we can keep it all in one universal thread, hence alleviating the need/obligation to post about the same poo over and over again and everybody will have a reference point for your opinion on him without having to force it down everyones throat in multiple threads.

I think his chariot turns into a pumpkin this offseason. He may be a good salary cap guy but his inability to find good personnel has gone too far. Where is our 3rd-5th round starter at safety? corner? D-tackle? I wish people would just get off his nuts and realize what he is. Yea the lockerroom likes him because he gives them fat cat contracts instead of pursuing FA's like Chris Canty and Brandon Carr.

I'm 50/50 on Hurney, some things he does are brilliant. Trades, getting certain players in the draft. Having a very good percentage on 1st round picks, which is what you want in the first. Getting steals in other rounds.

Then he does things that really baffle me. Offering players more money when they could walk and you could get other players that would probably help the team more. His loyalty can be a very double edge sword at times. His percentage in the second round is horrid.

Some drafts I wish never would have happened. 09, 2010, come to mind. Well 2010 got us Jimmy which in essence was what got us Cam.

Trading up for players that weren't worth what we gave up for them. That pisses me off so much. Giving away our future for these players when they aren't WORTH it....ugh.. Brown, Armanti...OTAH..(Well Otah was worth it but there were ideas of him having a very bad work ethic, it just didn't work out).

He's had more hits than misses contrary to popular belief. Which is why I trust me just a little more than I distrust him. This last draft was probably one of the best he's had in a while. Not happy about the 3rd given up for Alexander but he's doing something right now. It will be an after thought when he becomes something in this league.
