Concerned about Cam - Bayless vs Smith

I echo Stephen A. Smith 102395235 times. I like Cam's demeanor after a loss. And as far as the towel over the head after a "bad drive", that's not 100% accurate. He puts the towel over his head after EVERY drive. It's just his thing. Probably to absorb the sweat so it's not running down into his eyes. Or maybe it's just purely a focus, ritual thing he does. Who knows, who cares? It doesn't effect poo. He communicates with players and coaches on the sideline either way.

If there is one thing I DEMAND to see after each bad drive that I have YET to see (maybe the camera just isn't catching it), is him on a headset talking with Chud. I see him glance at the photos of the plays, but those don't tell everything. He needs to have Chud in his ear on the sidelines.

You guys think Cam will leave town if we offer him a record deal?

I don't.

Yeah, bc nothing we have seen would suggests WINNING is something Cam wants to do more than just about anything....

He could pull a Pep....go to a team that wants to give him a dominate D as well as other aid. Still be rich beyond his wildest dreams....

So no, offering a huge contract alone.....might not be enough. Don't forget, Cam can make just as much away from football if he wins.

Overpaying Cam....won't be as easy as say a Charles Johnson to get him to stay. Cam puts value on winning.

Like Stephen A. said though, Maybe Cam is fed up with Chud and has nothing to say to him beacuse he has already asked him for help. Chud is continuously setting Cam and this offense up to fail. Cam will get on the mic with Chud and just hear " alright Cam get ready to keep running the read option some more. It's bound to work at some point."

Fair possibility. If THAT is the case, that is something that NEEDS to be worked out. If there is a rift between the QB and the man calling the plays, that can be an obvious issue. Here is to hoping that isn't the case. I'm not ready to give up on this team, not by a long shot. The way I see it is overly-optimistic (I'm in the "guess we only get to go 14-2" way of thinking), but I have been this way since '95 and I'm not stopping now. Not after sitting through all the poo over the past 16 seasons. This is but a bump in the road and a bit of a disappointment. I just wish the rest of our fanbase could get to this level of thought. :(

Fast foward to Dallas, they essentially lean into the same game plan against the Cowboys and I think everyone was surprised by how quickly it started to look complimentary.  In my opinion the productive offense really helped the defense as well.  We played quite solid against a top offense. Finally we make our way to the Jets and Bills, Chubba's return.  You can't say the low scoring affair and return to ineffective football against the Jets was all on Chubba, they were indeed a better defense and so was Buffalo.  But the production difference between the two backs in both games was both visually and statistically obvious.  The bigger picture is the offense took a major step back as well.  They are other moving parts and it's isn't all one thing, BY9>Dalton by a decent margin at this point.   But yeah, Rico's vision and athleticism is just better than Chubba and it jumps at you.
    • First day in 3 weeks my pain started to dwindle just a tiny bit.  Got switched from hydrocodone to post-shingles pain patches.  My insurance refused to pay for my patches as I’m too young for shingles per them.  I also need a prescription to get shingles shot and insurance also won’t pay for it even thought I just had shingles and in high risk to get it again.
