Forbes calls out D-Will

compared to everyone in the USA.

Our country is in the toilet and of course this isn't the only reason why but it doesn't help.

Doesn't really hurt either.

Owners are just paying a fraction of what they make to these players every year now.

Salaries of NFL players should have no direct affect on your life.

If you don't think professional athletes are over paid you need to pull your head out of your ass.

money = power

they are just an extension of the illumanti anyway.

Other than in government, you are normally paid what you are worth to the company that employs you.

Drafting two rb's as we did was not really a problem. In fact, it was probably the right move for the type of team we were trying at the time. The running game was fantastic back in 08, and got us a division title. Resigning them both to big contracts might end up being a big problem if we can't afford to sign anyone in other areas.

Disagree about the right move stuff.

We still needed pass rush, DB's, a QB, DT's etc.

The one thing that we didn't need was a RB.

Drafting Stewart wasn't the problem. He has worked out well. The problem was that Brown, Clausen, Otah, Mccain and some others didn't work out. That is two first, a second and a third that failed.

I like Stew, and think that he could be a top 10 RB in the NFL, however I can't ever agree with drafting 2 RB's in the 1 within 3 years of each other.

And yes the others you listed were awful awful picks. Desperation picks normally are though.

So you think the owners should keep all the money? It has to go somewhere if the players aren't going to get paid as much. They sure as hell aren't going to reduce ticket prices when every game is a sell out in most places even with the recession. They aren't going to charge their TV affiliates less to broadcast the game. They aren't going to stop selling overpriced merchandise to people who love paying for it.

Fact is, the NFL makes a whole lot of money. If it doesn't go to the players, who are the ones who actually have the talent to make it such a great game to watch, it goes to the owners, who generally inherited it from daddy.

Most teams aren't lucky enough to find the talent in the draft that we've found at the position.

This is also a philosophical thing... we do much more than just run the ball with these guys.

Has nothing to do with luck really....we drafted 2 first round RBs in a 3 yr window. That isn't lucking into talented RBs
