If we lose next week to the Seahawks, fire Rivera after the game.

lol no.

The more I think about it, the more we might follow the Texans path with Gary Kubiak. First season 6-10, second season 8-8, third season 9-7, then a regression to 6-10 where the offense was elite (3rd in overall offense) but the defense was abysmal (32nd). After that season, they fired almost the entire defensive staff (DC, secondary coach, linebackers coaches) and hired Wade Phillips who implemented a defensive makeover. Went 10-6 last year with a rookie manning the QB position the 2nd half of the season and are 4-0 and arguably the best team in the league this season.

I just hope Rivera smartens up faster than Kubiak did and fires McDermott after this season.

Mid-season firings almost never make sense.

Now, after the season, yeah, go for it, but only if you (JR) are serious about doing all you can to put a competitive product on the field, including getting the best head coach available. However, I would not support firing Rivera after the season just to replace him with some coordinator that can be hired on the cheap. If that's your plan, forget it, and just hope Ron grows into the job.

    • For a 3rd year QB? That flies with the Teppers and makes the HC and GM look like fools.  Their fear is evident. Their careers are tied to making it work, it's ehy they signed on here and they are professionals who knows what kind of a situation they could potentially have on their hands if they are not calculating about popping up Bryce. I call BS to that sir. It's why every QB after Bryce couldn't make any other rosters past a PS spot...at best
    • Not just Dalton.   But the only real young arm they would let be seen the past 2 years was a really a bad Jack Plummer.  Who was super weak even for that tier  Can’t convince me how weak they made the atmosphere around Young hasn’t been intentional.
    • Things of note: mentions he has six drops. Six. For all the people that don’t know what a drop is, he has six. That’s a long distance from the league leader at ten. (To be fair, pro football reference has him at seven, still not bad.  Plenty of others is that same range.  His drop % is 6.3, which is low.) Catchable ball success ratio: 83% which is great. Catchable being the key word.  Mentions his contested catch rate is low at 5/18 but that’ll get better I think when he can rely on muscle memory for routes, catches, etc and the game slows down for him
