Nakamura starting this week

Nakamura has shown that he is one of the worst tacklers this season. I bet with our improvement on the pass rush, Martin would be able to make more plays and the D-fence wouldn't be so hand-cuffed. That dipsy-doo turning in circles crap Nakamura was doing Sunday is absolutely unnacceptable. As a fan, I do not want to believe that he is the best option we have at FS.

I think it is more a sign of how stubborn people can be....

Don't forget JR practically told Hurney to find someone to start ahead of Martin.....

No, Ron very frankly told Hurney to find TWO players to play ahead of Martin, and made very clear that he had no intention of playing Martin. Hurney found one. so on the bench Martin sits. Ron has n intention of playing him but realizes he may have to, because he hasn't been given anyone else.

Godfrey always plays bad. Playing bad now.

Issue is he makes a play, like a INT, and people then want to ignore everything else.

Who leads all the NFL in missed tackles? Charles Godfrey, the guy you claim is ballin.

Just bc Nakamura is utter trash doesn't mean Godfrey doesn't stink. Can't tackle and can't cover. Great talent allows him to make random plays.

How ironic was it, when Godfrey gave Beason the "wrap up" signal, after Beason missed one of his tackles on Gonzalez.

i give godfrey the benefit of the doubt because his bad plays aren't in a row, dudes not ballin but with the right coaching can be a starter in the nfl his aggression when hitting receivers is something you just can't teach nowadays and his coverage although by far not great has been decent so far.... i think further in the season you will see Godfrey grow into his own he's looking like he getting more comfortable out there

Yeah, every year is suppose to be his breakout year. He is wildly talented....he just is a bad S.

We needed completion brought in at FS and SS this year....unfortunately we just brought in special teamers and claimed they were compeition

The only thing I can say about Nakamura is that, he doesn't appear to be afraid to tackle, he just can't tackle. Sherrod Martin at times was afraid to tackle, and it showed.

You are 100% right, people on here have a short memory of how bad Martin was last year. He got beat deep multiple times and was scared to tackle, remember the end of the half last year in NO when Brees threw the TD and Martin was lost? I am not saying that Nakamura is the answer but for everyone to be all upset that Martin is still on the bench is crazy to me.

Panther/Giants game is to Panthers/Falcons Game as Nakamura/Falcons is to Nakamura/Seahawks.

After the Giants waxed us everyone included me didn't have a lot of hope when we played Atlanta. Look what happend. Now, everyone wants Nak benched and burned at the steak. Let's see if he can recover vs. Seattle.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
