I am honestly getting tired of going through this every fuging year, if he was in doubt of staying here then he shouldn't have signed a new contract.

Literally nothing that he said, and nothing in that article, insinuates that Smith is considering retiring any time soon.

Quit clouding this retard thread with facts.

The big retirement speech:

After everybody else leaves I tell Smith that if I can’t come up with a question maybe it’s time for me to walk away.

Smith says he sometimes feels the same way about football.

Can you really envision yourself leaving?

“You’d be surprised,” he says.

It seemed like it was after all the normal interviews, etc and Sorensen was just able to sit there with him for a bit. I see nothing wrong with the conversation. Of course that is something Smith thinks about. He has played for 12 seasons, and this team is regressing.

    • Yuck.  I still kind of like Herbert but these playoff performances are rough....
    • I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.
    • We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
