I'm starting to believe this is offensive coordinator's inability to adjust after first year success. If you go on the Bengals forum, they too are complaining about how their offense is looking nothing like last year.

Dalton's thrown at least one pick in every single game this season. Had 3 turnovers today (2 picks, one of which was a TAINT, and a fumble). A lot of Dalton's "success" last season (hell, this season) was him just chucking the ball to Green and hoping for him to make a play on the ball.

I dont 100% think this is the same situation.

Dalton is what I would term a servicable QB who had the advantage of his franchise drafting a freakin' superstar WR who will make QBs look better than they are for years. I don't think their trouble is being caused by system changes / retarded playcalling (I haven't watched all of their games, but I've watched a few b/c my wife's family is from up there)

We have a potential superstar QB who is being stymied by, at least in as much measure as his own problems, the completely different (and relatively stupid) system we changed to this year combined with our staff's stubborn insistence that if they keep calling that option it will eventually fool someone.

Same result, sure, but as far as I can tell vastly different causes and paths to repair.
