Offensive Coordinator Replacements/Candidates?

Ruff

Recommended Posts

So, at the rate we're going, our offensive is going to deteriorate into some college-pro hybrid that progressively scores less and less points a game, if it hasn't already. Slowly, the read-option is going to cause our players, especially our offensive line, to regress into below-average players. Eventually, Chud is going to need to be replaced if this happens.

If this happens, who takes over the offensive coordinator position? Is it Shula, and if so, is our offense going to look like the dreadful Tampa Bay offense when Shula was there? Do we go after another one of Rivera's "pals" from San Diego?

chud showed last year he could run a good offense. he just needs to have boundaries put in place that he hasn't so far.

i won't be sad if he leaves pretty much because he has to be managed so much.

i would like someone from the coryell family because i think we're best suited for that style but i would also like someone who is a bit on the innovative side of things.

i really want us to have the offensive tempo that cam had at auburn...just a hurry up offense from beginning to end.

i don't know who would fit all that, though.

Chud is gojng no where.

Although he may be asked to adjust his offense scheme.

Our defensive coordinator, i hope goes, but not sure what it would take for them to send him packing.

So the DC has a higher chance of getting fired despite being better at his job than the OC (yes they do both suck).

"Chud is going no where" lol yea, sure buddy. Only you would make such an asinine definitive statement like that.

    • I have no strong opinion either way. I mean, for those who are out, do you really expect Tepper to hire anyone better? So far, Canales has probably been his best coaching hire. Granted, that's an extremely low bar to clear but I'm just saying it's not like there's a line of great candidates beating down the door begging to work for Tepper. Going 5-5 with the worst QB play in the league isn't terrible. Now with that said, I expect to start getting the hell beaten out of us now that the Saints have shown what I thought was obvious all along - sell out against the run and stack the box and absolutely force us to have to throw the ball and it basically makes the game unwinnable for a Bryce Young QB'd team.
    • You're letting your hatred for him cloud your judgement, you can't say with 100% certainty that Bryce can't play anywhere else, especially since everyone here said the same about Darnold and Mayfield and are now backtracking to say "well they had the skills all along"... absolutely nobody was saying that at the time. You are forgetting that the Panthers are currently a poverty franchise that taints everything they touch, it is absolutely in the realm of possibility that Bryce sits for a few years and then looks like Mac Jones does right now. But I agree that it won't happen here, and the Panthers have to move on.
    • That was me. Overall it has tightened up. Kickoffs are good. FGs are good normally. Punting game is good. PR isn’t bad. I didn’t see what happened on the block, who let the guy through. I knew we were putting a couple of new guys out there but thought they we gunner types. Chisena.
