Stats to make you scream...

Let's look at some selected stats from the 1st half of yesterday's game...

Ratio of under center to shotgun plays: 33% vs 67%

Ratio of run plays to pass plays: 29% vs 71%

Under center run average yards per play: 4.2

Shotgun run average yards per play: 2.0

Under center pass average yards per play: 11.5

Shotgun pass average per play: 4.4

Sink in yet? Okay, let's look at our touchdown drive. During that drive, we ran 5 under center plays. We ran 1 play out of the shotgun.

So that's 1 possession with 5 under center plays resulting in a touchdown.

We had 6 other possessions in the 1st half that did not result in scores. In those 6 possessions, we ran a total of 4 plays from under center. Four.

The game started off with quick short throws, with a couple of intermediates thrown in. Cam completed his first 6 passes.

Considering all the above information, can anyone provide me with a reason, any reason at all, why Chud should be the OC of this team for even 1 more day?

Chip Kelly will bring Cam's swag back!

Chip Kelly specializes in the read option offense. I don't want to take any chances, we need a guy we know will run a pro system, who wouldn't dare try to take a college rule system and mash it in with the big boys. If we hire a coach from the college league, we need to go after a guy like David Shaw. Look at the miracle Jim Harbaugh made with Alex Smith. David Shaw would be the next best thing. So any coach who runs a pro system will do.

With all that said, why doesn't Cam (and the team, but Cam specifically) rebel against this coaching staff? Why does he not go into their office right now, and tell them this crap offense is not working? Who cares if they bench him as a result, it will just make their firing all the more quicker. As things stand right now, Cam is taking all the heat, and man is this kid getting scorched! All I can is if I were Cam, I would rebel against this offense, and start calling my own plays. I just haven't seen this kind of desire out of Cam, and it makes me think he may not be our guy. Yes, he has all the talent in the world, but I haven't seen the essentials of being a star QB just yet. The pocket presence, the anticipation of throws, the reading of defenses and so on.

    • Wow that’s actually really cool chatgpt can do that Although, as we know Arizona sat in soft zone the entire second half. So there was a lot of dinking and dunking, but that’s the right thing to do in that situation.  Week 1 pass chart doesn’t look bad. He pushes the ball downfield more than several other quarterbacks I’ve watched. For some reason the huddle thinks other quarterbacks are constantly throwing 60 yard bombs. That is absolutely not the case. Some quarterbacks aren’t taking any deep shots at all.
    • We keep referring to it as Over drafting him like he was really a first round draft pick. We traded up at the end of the first to get him in a deal with Buffalo so that we could grab him and get an extra year on his contract if needed. At the time that sounded like "If he really soars, we can get that fifth year extension automatically". It really probably meant, "We might need five years to really get him up to starting WR speed."  He was basically a second rounder with a potentially meaningless pick as well to pay for those rights. Still, I think that with him we are on the Kelvin Benjamin bubble right now... will he ever be more than just an athlete? Can he really learn to fight and compete for that ball? Can he learn professional routes? Can he handle the fame and more money than he's ever seen in his life? Can he handle all of the pressure a fanbase puts on him? Tough shoes to fill. Not sure I'd want to be in them. I hope he gets it all together soon. A lot, most draftees, can't. Good luck and God bless to the young man. He's got a lot of work to do in a very unforgiving workplace.
    • This is the #1 reason I defend Bryce. Everyone around him is learning on the job, including him. But hey in 3 years we could have a talented offense that grew up together.
