We lose the coin toss, what does the opposing team do? Defer to us, nearly every single time. Its like they make a mockery of our offense, they dare us to score on our opening drive and they know good and well we wont be able to and we prove them right all the time. Bears, Redskins and the Broncos. All deferred to us and we failed to score on each of those opening drives.

I mean its just so sad we seem to be the only team in the league that loses every coin toss, the opposing team chooses to defer to us daring us to score, and we wilt like a flower every time. Usually teams want to keep the ball out of the offenses hands as much as possible but not with us, the longer our offense is on the field the better chance the other team has to win. SMH.

More teams are beginning to defer now a days. Tampa defers every time. Saints have been deferring. Just the few I've noticed.

I'd defer if I won the coin toss. Getting the ball first in the 2nd half is a great opportunity to dictate how the final two quarters are gonna be won or lost.

I believe it is a tactic employed by many winning teams. I believe the Patriots are known to do it and I have a faint recollection of them doing it against the Panthers in the SB. Am I imagining that?
