How will the team handle the primetime stage?

Panthers Nation

Recommended Posts

I know we were on NFL Network earlier this year, but MNF is a different stage all eyes will be on our team.Do we step up and let the world know we have some talent,or do we fold like little kittens and get smacked around like a b*tch?

I think Cam and Smitty will put on a show,im thinking Cam throws for 400+ and Smitty will have 10 catches for 200+.Our defense I know will show up and give it their all, they should be embaressed from last week performance.

*Also when was the last time we had a Monday Night game?

I think we redeem ourselves a good bit from the Giants Thursday night embarrassment earlier in the year.

I doubt Cam lights it up and has a career game but I think we see a well-rounded team effort. I think we will see a balanced offensive attack and maybe one of our backs goes for 100+ yards. I think Cam throws for 275-325 and a pair of touchdowns and likely adds 50-75 yards on the ground.

I think our defensive front continues to get after the QB and our linebackers continue to hold runners in check. Still worried about Maclin and Jackson, however.

Defense shows up while we decide to rely on the read option as the base of our defense.

Lose 21-12.

I'm serious too. I foresee Chud sticking wit the read option for another game. Hopefully he gets fired after the game.

Just my opinion, but I think one of the reasons the Thursday night game went so badly is that we have an inexperienced head coach going against one of the best coaches in the NFL with only a few days to prepare. Coughlin knew how to better prepare a team for a game in 3 days than Rivera did, and it showed. Hopefully, that will not be a problem this time.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
