What we were doing was working. If we were going 3 and out for 3-4 possessions you would have a point, but we were moving the ball.

After our TD drive with our first possession of the 3rd .. we went .. 3 and out - 4 plays fumble - 3 and out .. before FINALLY closing it out near the end .. we were playing SO SOFT

how about not changing the game plan until at least the 4th .. we've made that mistake too many times IMO

Get aggressive, get a pick 6 or another fumble? No, when you have 10pt or more lead in mid to late in the 4th quarter...the defense has to step its game. It would be nice to have the offense execute flawlessly to chew tons of time off the clock, but even Brady and Manning throw picks....the term SOFT should be associated with the defense late in the game, not the offense.

Add in that we're taking lots of time off the clock.

A lot of people on here have no clue about situational play calling and how it impacts the game, I constantly feel like I'm talking to a bunch of air heads whenever I do trouble myself to explain it to them.

good overall criticism of rivera, but it doesn't apply to this game. pounding the rock worked all four quarters (for once) and as others have noted newton looked a little shaky after that shot to the knee. running the ball is ultimately how we won this football game.

You know, the opponent's defense does has something to say about how our offense plays out the game. I'd be surprised if that wasn't true in Madden as well as the real world.

Didn't Cam have two incompletions on our first 3 and out. Then we were moving the ball before DWill fumbled. Stopping our 2nd drive. The third drive we started 1st and 20. Tough situation.

But that last drive was a thing of beauty. Damn near the whole game was a thing of beauty. Beating a dangerous Charger team in their den is tough. In December as well. Good win.

We are 5-2 in our last 7 games. And if we win our last 2, we can finish the year on a 7-2 run. Seems to me that the future has already started.
