Super Bowl: American Tradition, American... Holiday?

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:

Declare the Monday following the Super Bowl a national holiday.

In 2012, an estimated 111 million American citizens watched the Super Bowl, making it the most-viewed television broadcast in history and one of the largest location-independent gatherings of American people to date.

We at 4for4.com Fantasy Football petition the Obama Administration to consider declaring the Monday following Super Bowl Sunday a national holiday. By doing so, the Obama Administration can promote camaraderie among the American people, keep the streets safer for our children on Sunday night and Monday morning, promote a productive workplace when work resumes on Tuesday, and honor the most popular event in modern American culture.

Come on Huddle of America, let's get this poo recognized and passed!

I mean... if a friggin' petition to build a Death Star can generate the required signatures surely one about the Super Bowl given the correct exposure can, right? Only difference is the White House might actually take this one seriously.

It is more of a Holiday than anything. I end up having to be super careful on which superbowl party I decide to attend because most are just Holiday parties and nobody watches the superbowl. At certain places people think I'm being anti-social because I actually sit down and watch the game.

moving it to Saturday is more likely to happen than another holiday...and to be honest, understanding that Sunday is football day traditionally...moving the Superbowl to Saturday makes a whole lot of sense.

oh...and while we are at it...move the damn Pro Bowl back to after the Superbowl!

    • Apparently CSW lost his starting job to Thornton last year. If he can stay healthy I bet Thornton keeps that NB position.
    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
