Do not know about the original owner or any of his story but why would anyone want to name their team after somone they found "lesser"?

Because natives while being clowned and stereotyped were and are seen in american history as valiant warriors. Hence so many native mascots. But the name and imagery is over the top. Itd be like JR telling one of his black coaches put on face paint, a bone thru their nose, a spear and naming the team the Pickaninnies in his "honor"

George Preston Marshall is the father of white supremacy in the NFL. He started the "only white males can lead as QBs, Centers, OCs, head coaches" mentality that still is alive today. He segregated the game for 13 years after it had already been integrated to preserve the white race, not the game. I bet a lot of people who hold and held the "only white guys are smart enough to play QB" ideology dont even know where that came from or who came up with it. The white supremacist owner of the Redskins. SMH

I guess I was just speaking in practical terms where if I bought a team, I would want it to represent something positive from my point of view. Never would I think to name a team something from my list of hated things. Would be kinda mocking in a way. Oh well, thanks for the info.

It would be like me spending millions and then naming my team the "liberals". joking

KT actually has a good point here... they should consult with native american tribes and come up with a name that honors them instead of mocks them.

Course they could just change to a more local mascot, one that is more up to date. Since from DC.....

Crooks, Deadbeats, Blowhards, Self Serving Bastards, course the last one is my favorite, but hard to put into a song. Does ring true though, "Hail to the Self Serving Bastards".

      So answer the question. Why did Chark and Hurst have the same metrics (go look them up, I did... and one was actually worse in LA) with Justin Herbert? Why did Mingo have the same metrics with Dak? You're right, there is a common denominator, just not the one you're trying to make.  Why could DJ Moore get open with Bridgewater, Allen, Cam 2.0, Darnold, Baker, Williams, Bagent? I'll answer the question for you - because he is a good WR unlike Chark/Hurst/Mingo.

And you just said yourself that is due to him having a damn good roster around him and they are well coached. You're even saying the bad baker is still there somewhere, but he is in a good organization with good roster and coaching that they are getting the best out of him. Why does Baker and Sam get all that benefit of the doubt but when it comes to Bryce it must be a BY9 problem, not an org or team problem?  Hell I got a guy below you arguing with me that Chark/Hurst/Mingo sucked because Bryce wouldn't throw them open. It's ridiculous how far the stretch goes.

      Correct.  It’s really hard to get open in the NFL when opposing defenses gameplan and cheat coverage/routes on all your players because they know your QB can’t make certain throws/plays.   magically no one that comes to Carolina can get open or make plays with the ball in their hands…..it’s like there is one singular common dominator to it all.  BY makes playing defense way too easy.   NFL players are too good to allow one side to cheat coverage and not respect all the potential threats of a route  so you can dial up a great play.  But if corners and safeties just cheat coverage and know X and Y happening on route/threats….getting open gets hard when they just play it one way.  Getting open has a lot to do with the different threats a WR can pose on a given play.
