Joe Flacco to be Highest Paid QB EVER

If Cam gets us a Super Bowl win and gets us consistent playoff appearances with championship appearances then he can get that type of contract too and I wouldn't blink an eye. Whether or not Flacco solely deserves the money on his skills alone, the team under his performances got the job done.

If Cam can get the Panthers going with that type of record and get a us a Lombardi Trophy and an MVP performance doing so? Yeah I'd be just fine with ponying up.. outside of that he'd be looking up at the championship QB's money-wise IMO.

Eh, next year some other QB will be the highest paid ever, then a new one the next year, and so on and so forth. Does he deserve to get paid more than any player ever? No, but that's just how inflation works.

It's really gonna make signing cam painful.

I understand the logic in rewarding the guy that brought you the championship but the highest paid player should be reserved for the ones that have the stats during the regular season and the postseason. Big Ben and Eli come to mind who should then be paid more than him.

I still do not see how someone who averages 20td passes a year, never thrown for 4k, and averages 60% is the highest paid when there's QBs that year after year throw for 4,500+, 35-45tds, and also win Super Bowls. Just doesn't add up.

They were better off franchising him and see if be can replicate the success. Now they're stuck with him whether or not he sucks for the remainder of his contract.

Much of that money is going to moxie, which in my opinion he has arguably the most of out of any QB in the league.

He does deserve to be the highest paid qb in the league.

Baltimore could have saved money by extending him last season.

Instead they made him play out the final year of his rookie contract, which ended with him leading the ravens to winning the Superbowl.

That is what it's all about. Winning the Superbowl.

Is he the best is the league? Nope. Blame the ravens on them not extending him earlier.

He has the wins...

In fairness, at this moment he's accounted for an equal number of Ravens Super Bowl victories as Trent Dilfer.

Flacco is better than Dilfer. Nobody would need to convince me of that.

Better than Rodgers, Brees, Peyton and Brady? You're gonna have to sell me on that notion.

Cam Cameron is terrible. I don't think you can emphasize enough how much Flacco was held back because of Cameron. Look at what Flacco did in 4 playoff games without him. 1100 yards, 11 TDs, 0 INTs. If he plays that way throughout the regular season next year, you can't say he isn't one of the elite QBs in the league with that ring on his finger.

Yeah but back here in the real world.......

Not sure what this is supposed to mean.

I'm not saying he won't be in demand for a huge contract. He probably will be as he is entitled to. But don't think it'll be as much if he wasn't getting the kind of endorsements he's getting.

Mage, Peyton Manning is consistently one of the highest earners in the league in endorsement deals and he was still able to manage a contract in the neighborhood of 100 million with a bad neck and no guarantee he would come close to performing at a level he was once capable of to boot

this will be our predicament in a few years

How do you see this? Cam keeps improving and getting better. But unless Cam gets in the top 5 QB in the next 2 seasons and gets us deep into the playoffs this coming season and the season afterwards. Then Cam will not see that kinda money with his first big contract go around. My guess is that Cam first big contract will be in the range of 60 mill. for 5-6 years. I just don't see Cam getting no where near that big of a contract that Flacco just got. Unless Cam in the next 2 seasons get us to the SB and win it. Panthers would not be able to afford that type of contract. That would kill this team if we had to put out that much money each season.

How do you see this. Cam is not a Brady or even a Manning. Unless Cam gets us deep into the playoffs in for the next 2 seasons and even get to the SB. Cam will end up getting a similar contract that Alex Smith got just last year. Just with a little more money added on to that. But for Cam first big contract. I just don't see him getting no where close to what Brady,Peyton, and Flacco is currently is getting. Cam will get that kind of money when gets another contract down the road when he is around 29yrs old. All depending how good he does.
