When will the Panthers have money again?

Patience young grasshopper. Panther fans were spoiled by the NFC championship in year 2 and the Superbowl run in 2003. There are teams that haven't even done that yet. Be thankful for what Carolina has accomplished. This isn't going to happen overnight and signing a bunch of overpaid free agents is not the answer. Carolina has had some bad luck with draft picks over the years and have had to endure a GM that was under qualified. In Summary....

It's A Process. :)

It seems like some teams don't rebuild though, they just reload

How many more years do we have to remain thankful?

where will the money come from to resign cam to a big deal? I am asking this to the guys saying he will get a 150-200 million dollar contract

Cam is not going to get a big deal...............he hasn't won anything.

Cam's big deal (and great for us) will be his third contract.

Cam is not only the prototype of the new dual threat QB, he is the benchmark as to contracts as well. On the latter. Be thankful he's first, On the former, be thankful he's ours.

Sign Hardy next year. Then extend Cam the following. Sounds easy enough.

You only get to keep so many top level contracts nowadays. You have to have a strong core and Hardy with Cam need to be a part of that.

You have to have talent around your core to succeed. And that is exactly what Gettlemen brings. The ability to stock the lower level talent shelf with decent players. The more productive, but cheap, talent you have. The more money you have to deal with the top level talent.

The days of the mid level pay player is almost over. You are either top level, or lower level. The teams that draft well to replenish the talent pool are the ones who will be successful. You will have to replace those good players that don't warrant top level pay with young players ready to prove they are next in line. Perpetuate the growth.

That is what Gettlemen is working towards.

OK, I'm done. And GOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had we been smart with the money for the big contracts that we signed, we would be in a totally different position right now.

As it is, we are using Cam's "cheap" years trying to get out of cap hell and dealing with a lame duck coach.

By the time this team is ready to compete, we will have to hamstring ourselves with a huge QB contract.

We are in a very strange place right now my friends.
