What happened to the Warmack bandwagons?

I bet he doesn't go in the top 20. Seems like every year there's supposed to be an OG that goes in the top half of the 1st and yet it almost never actually happens.

you know why? cause most teams don't like the idea of drafting an OG in the first round. i don't see this year being any different. few want to be "that" team. it's seen as a luxury pick that few are able to make. it's also seen as just not a premium position that you need to invest much in. you draft an OG in the first and you might get him for kind of cheap for a rookie, but when that second contract comes up it's going to be really expensive if he works out and that's usually just more than what teams are going to want to commit themselves to.

Exactly. Analysts just hear the NFL guys raving about a prospect and don't take into account the position he plays. You'd never see a kicker, punter, or FB mocked in the 1st round. Yet they can't get it through their thick skulls that interior OLs almost never go in the top half of the 1st. Elite ones go around 20ish, very good ones go jear the bottom of the first, and there will be years when none go in the 1st at all.

He's fell a bit while Cooper from UNC has gained on him. If you have Warmack as a top ten player then pretty much so is Cooper. Will either of them go top 10??? I doubt it, but I think they both go in the first round and most likely both go top 20.

A bunch of mock drafts and scouts are actually moving Cooper above Warmack as well. Three of these have Cooper above Warmack and Cooper going in the 7-19 range. While Warmack is going in the 11-18 range.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
