Favorite Moments in Draft History

Ok the Draft is 2 weeks from today, so my question is what are your favorite moments in watching the draft.

Mine

3, the Julius Peppers pick, loved it from the moment it was announced.

2, the Jonathan Stewart, Jeff Otah thought we struck gold when we landed both and probably would have if both had stayed healthy

1, Brady Quinn dropping to 22nd, his girlfriend on camera was priceless, you could tell that she knew how much money he was loosing every time he dropped a spot in the draft, if they had been married at the time I bet that gold digger would have devorced him on the spot for not being worth the millions she thought he would have been worth.

I was big on Deangelo so when he was still there with 2-3 picks to go, I was excited. And then when we got him, I was ecstatic.

I was bummed by the Jon Beason pick because I thought Posluzny was a beast (that didn't really hold up long)

Cam was fun because it seemed like we'd do it, but I didn't know if we actually would, and a season where Jimmy wasn't at the helm any more was such a relief.

And I remember being a kid and getting excited because people were excited about the Kerry Collins pick after we got him, but I didn't really understand what the hell was going on. Still fun though

Ryan Lief going before Manning. But in the Panthers case I would say the Cam Newton pick. Mostly cause the coaches were able to block out all the espn negativity surrounding his potential. Not to mention the refreshed feeling of a new qb that was not over-hyped like Clausen and weinke.

I'm pretty sure Manning went before Leaf.

If it was at the time, no hindsight? I loved the Dwayne Jarrett pick. Loved Keyshawn trying to explain it too.

If it's hindsight, obviously that punt returner we drafted in 2001.

that was really a funny moment, Keyshawn was like "yeah I'm going to teach him everything" and was a June 1st cut I think. Lmao

    • I did not, this reminds me of another live action type video game that never made it and has a huge cult following. Thanks for the 90s nostalgia frend!! My gods do I miss that era at USAs peak and it was my best on many aspects too.
    • Many layers my frend- Panthers had a draft recently. They picked 4 defense players. Each player picked 11, 22, 33, 55 as their number. For some players that number match the round or pre-draft round rank, example- Prince was a 3rd rounder and choose 33. Nic was a 1st rounder on some mock drafts and Dan Morgan said they had him as a 1st, he picked 11. Cam Jackson recently switched his number to 55, same as draft and has been telling Dave he wants to be special over and over.  The 44 was to add GOAT feels, thoughts, and more intrigue to this rookie phenomenon. X files cause it was a great TV show and maybe it was playing when this theory came together.......   I hope this helps!
    • The best things Purdy has are certainly important tools for any QB. His accuracy his timing his decision making etc. I feel like he is a high end Teddy Bridgewater. You can compete and win in the regular season with this especially in a weakened NFC but where his limitations come into focus is when you are trying to contend for a Super Bowl you are going against elite and in some instances generational QB's like Mahomes. And when the time has come for him to go up against Mahomes he simply can't get it done. Now certainly he is not alone in that regard and people will point to another highly regarded QB such as Josh Allen who also cannot get by Mahomes. But the difference I see is Allen is not IMO at a phsyical disadvantage in that matchup whereas Purdy is. And that is with what had been to this point a comically stacked roster around Purdy and let's be clear we cannot understate that regardless of which side of the fence we land on in this debate. Purdy has had a top 5 roster and a top 5 coach. And the last time they went to the Super Bowl they leaned on McCaffrey extremely heavily. Now with what they are having to pay him and divert limited resources elsewhere they face a steep climb to get back to the Super Bowl let alone actually win it.
