Panthers Objective should be Select one Vol at some point.

Seriously.... either one of these guys look good enuff to be our new number one or at least two. Hard to imagine all this talent was at one point under one roof. I personally would take hunter and da'rick rodgers over patterson, but he is a talent in his own right. Da'rick will most likely be around in the 3rd because of character concerns,so assuming we could trade down at some point he could be a real steal. I personally love this wr class. I think rodgers might be the best of the bunch but will be over looked.

Justin Hunter

cordarrelle patterson

da'rick rogers

I just don't see richardson really helping us. I mean he could be better and younger than dwan but they pretty much do the same thing. we need a big nasty space eater.

Just for giggles but how long has Dwan been good?? And do you expect the same production he had last year?

I understand what your saying,But how does drafting another pass rushing defensive tackle help us win ball games? We have two studs on the outside and Dwan is at least serviceable for another year. we would look almost exactly the same on defense if we didn't get some kind of run stopper or coverage player on defense. Pass rushing Dt should be a after thought.

We hope he's at least serviceable. But we must remember last year was the best he ever had and we still couldn't stop the run effectively.

Plus we are really making fast judgement on some of these players. Some of these guys can stop the run as well as pass rush. It would be nice to have both in one player sometimes.

Rogers WILL end up in trouble. That is a scientific fact.

Hunter has the talent and athletic ability to be AJ Green, just not the killer instinct I'd like to see.

Patterson gets knocked a lot lately, but as Jerry Maguire once said, "there's no proof of anything other than this guy is a sensational athlete." Patterson is going to be a star, or my given Christian name isn't "RockytopVol."

I agree with the Humter statement. He has elite Randy Moss like skills with all the finesse..just not going to make those tough catches after a big hit. I still like him.

I forget how explosive Patterson as I championed him after the college season. All are better options than Allen IMO bc I dont see anything that stands oit on Keenan Allen's game tape than Keary Colbert or Jarrett in college(who were both better in college)

I would consider either one in the third, and perhaps Hunter in the second. Rogers has bigger question marks, so Idk if he is worth the pick, especially if Ryan Swope, Aaron Dobson, Kenny Stills and Justin Brown are still on the board.

Per nfl.com's profile

ANALYSIS

STRENGTHS

Physical specimen with power and strength. Works very well over the middle, and is extremely difficult to bring down after the catch. Gets off the line well for a player of his size. Shows flexibility in adjusting to the football, making difficult catches, and getting out of his routes. Uses his body to shield defenders from making a play on the football. Smooth, with good body control when going up for the football. Strong hands allow him to grab low and wide passes adeptly. Physical run blocker when engaged, will sustain through the play.

WEAKNESSES

Off-field maturity and on-field effort have been issues. Stops his route at times if not the primary target. Body language on the field can be defeating. Lacks great explosiveness to run by corners, no extra gear. Will struggle to track the football at times. Not a very instinctual receiver, doesn't always run the routes he should, doesn't fight to get open when the play breaks down.

NFL COMPARISON

Greg Little

BOTTOM LINE

Rogers is a physical specimen with strong hands who overpowered defenders in his routes and after the catch on his way to second-team All-SEC status in 2011 (67 catches, 1,040 yards, nine TDs), and to a dominating season (78 catches for 1,207 yards and 11 TDs) while at Tennessee Tech. His immaturity off the field caused him to be dismissed from Tennessee before the 2012 season, and thus the biggest questions with Rogers will be about character concerns. While he's not a quick-twitch, vertical threat, Rogers is a big, physical receiver who works well across the middle, and has a tremendous deal of talent

I m surde rodgers will have his issues. But i do believe in his talent on the field. Maybe a good support group can turn him in the right direction. I think his catch ability is better than the other two. And he plays with a edge. Look at the run after catch he drags alot of guys.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
