NFL.com's latest mock out today. They have us drafting.. You guessed it.

I still don't think the team takes him, but in Walter's latest mock he adds this tidbit in. Doesn't mean much considering how far off he's been in his last mock for the Panther's. I think someone is giving him false information... lol

The Panthers really want Sheldon Richardson, but he unfortunately did not make it to them. I've been told by a reliable source that outside of Richardson, the Panthers are looking closely at Xavier Rhodes, Tavon Austin and Kenny Vaccaro.

The latter is the only one of the quartet still remaining. That's fine though because the safety position is an area Carolina desperately needs to address. As I've joked frequently, Hiro Nakamura could stop time. Haruki Nakamura couldn't stop anyone.

Then again last year he posted this in his last mock

I've had Fletcher Cox here for the past couple of updates. He's no longer on the board, but I was told by a credible source to move on from mocking him at No. 9.

Something else I've been told is that Quinton Coples is the favorite to be the No. 9 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Coples has spent a ridiculous amount of time in Carolina recently - something the general manager did not want revealed to the press. Oops.

Coples would bolster Carolina's pass rush. He could also play defensive tackle on passing downs, which is a very weak area for the team.

DT is a safe pick and he can start right away.

I'm not married to any pick but the thought of a 2nd year Kuechly and a badass DT rookie plugging the holes is pretty good. Along with our other studs I mean.

They will make the secondary look good.

DT is nowhere near a safe pick. The bust rate for 1st round DT's is extremely high.

I am pretty sure it wont be Richardson at 14. I think it will be a NT, WR or defensive secondary. Those are the gaps and many of the BPAs at 14. I thought this was a good discussion about why not to take Richardson.

THanks for this link. I think Gettlemen will be looking to trade down. You cna drop 8-10 spots and land a pretty good WR or NT.

If we stay put, I am starting to think Vaccaro or Rhodes. I am not high on either, but who knows? I am rarely right about picks.

Basically, mockers do a needs analysis and DT is the need that seems to stand out. However, RG is arguably our biggest need right now and nobody seems to be giving us one although there are 2 good ones in the first. Go figure.

I think the top of the draft has some talent at DE. With Hardy about to become a free agent in 2014 and the Giants love for pass rushers, do not be totally shocked if we do not grab one. I do not want this, but...

Fortunately, Gettlmen was with the Giants when they drafted an athletic, high-motor DT whose biggest flaw was he played with a high pad level. Marvin Austin.

Maybe that will cause him not to take Richardson.

If Star is there,I want a DT.

Rather draft a Gerald Hodges or Zaviar Gooden.

I'd rather go down to mcdonalds and get a sausage, egg, and cheese mcmuffin. but that could be because it's time for breakfast. i don't feel like going anywhere so I'll have to settle for cheesy grits and sausage.
