My family is trying to arrange a vacation in Wrightsville for the week after Labor Day. My cousin did a bunch or research and found some houses we can rent for the week. My thought is, "Why aren't we looking at the Outer Banks?" I found some houses there that are on the beach for less $. But I thought I'd ask the question to you North Carolinians. If you were spending a week in a Beach House, which beach would you rather go to?

Thanks.

You should also look into Topsail Island/Surf City N.C.  Much quieter for a family vacation.  I agree though, don't go to Wrightsville if you want it to be a family vacation....

We do 2 weeks in the Avon area every year. I like it because you can drive on the beach and even during peak season you can find your own secluded area (pic below although this is from last month). Good fishing at kiteboarding too.

I haven't been to wrightsville since I was a kid but I remember the inland waterway being great for boating and skiing.

The pain of wrightsville is the traffic. Car, bike, skateboard and foot. It will take you a while to get anywhere at most any time of day. The beauty though is the booty.

I'm actually about to go on a family vacation with the in laws to Kure beach. The mom rented a 4 bed 4 bath 3000 sq ft house that sleeps 10 for a week and it was less than 2000. It's about 1000' from the sand, in a community with a pool and has chairs and toys for renters.

You should definitely look around at less populated beaches IMO.

Well I live here so I'm probably biased... I guess it depends on what you want to do.

If you want to go to the beach and only do beach... Outer Banks.

If you want to go to the beach and also maybe go to the movies, go out to bars, etc., come to Wrightsville.

If you come to Wrightsville and don't get up with me, I kill you.

Oak Island Youpon/Long Beach

Best on the NC coast IMO.

Nice quiet atmosphere and close enough to Southport & Wilmington that when you want to go do something besides chill on the beach you can.  Also the SC boarder is < an hour away for a fireworks run.

Don't go to Wrightsville Beach!!! They're working on the drawbridge all summer, it's only one lane in and one lane out. It literally takes an hour to go 1/2 mile sometimes. OB or Topsail is the ticket.

Pie and rep to you, Sir for the great intel!

    • Then why are they paying QBs so much compared to other players? QB are making so much it's harder and harder to pay other players. If a guy plays like 1 of 11 then there pay should be in line with that. Not all QB should be breaking the bank just because your next or a former 1st rounder There is a reason they say try to win it all on a QB rookie deal because after that they can cripple a team on what it can do. I would rather not do that for a bottom 1/3 QB. Cam and Jake have been the only QBs worth investing long term into this team has had I would rather not lower the bar. If a guy don't got the IT factor and it shows I would rather not invest long term into them and keep looking
    • Aho…come out and prove me wrong boy.
    • I mean, I hear what y'all are saying, but Derrick could have been positive without being negative.  He essentially accused people of not seeing Bryce's improvement because of their desire to not be wrong. He could've kept it about Bryce and the team. For example, he could've said: "Bryce has made strides, and we believe in him. This coming season, his continued improvement will turn a lot of people into believers."  That would've been supportive of his teammate and sent a message to the doubters. That being said, his tact almost summoned and left the door ajar for more skepticism. That's my take anyway. Bryce has improved from the bottom to perhaps skirting the line between the bottom third and mid-third at best...after three seasons. We've all seen it. Yay! In my mind, Bryce has still got a long way to go and a short time to get there, but my expectations are top five--at least top 10--always! Yes, I am a fan, so there's that, but I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect excellence. Hopefully the Panthers FO has the same mindset (and that doesn't even necessarily have anything to do with what we gave up to acquire him). That is the lens I'm looking through. Derrick Brown has his homer glasses on. He just needs to be more diplomatic and thoughtful with his words in my opinion, but I get it that he's a good teammate.
