With 8.46 million do we go shopping or sign Hardy?

Gettleman will find a new DE before he overpays Hardy. The man knows nothing if not defensive lines so I am confident no matter what happens we will have an effective line for a fair price. The Hurney days are over, thank god.

which is why Gettleman knows he has to lock up Hardy.  The kid plays an incredible amount of downs and versatile enough to play all over the DL.  If anyone needs to get locked up for their production, it's Greg Hardy.

We'll be in good shape to sign Hardy and Cam.  Next year or the year after we'll probably have Beason's contract off the books.  Definitely Gross's and Godfrey's.  That frees up a lotta bread.  Combine that with the cap going up and there's plenty of money to do what we need to do.

I think Hardy gets a new contract before training camp and I think it's a smart move.  You can't wait a year for him to prove it and pay thorugh the nose or you can trust your evalution on him and sign him now.  I think you do it now or not at all.

But, you will have to replace Gross with another stud LT....and similar cap.

Don't expect to have his money to spend anywhere other than LT.

I would wait till after this season to lock Hardy up. I dont want to give him money too soon just yet.

Make a push for Hakeem Nicks next season and draft a young OT beast in Lewan, Matthews, or BPA.

We should be a deadly team in 2014.

Hope we can't draft Lewan or Matthews next season....both are likely Top 5 picks.

Which is why he wont. Bc its Greg Hardy.

Gettleman didnt draft Hardy. Why would he already give money to a player he has yet seen play a down for him since being the GM?

Gettleman was there at NY and saw first hand with how Jerry Reese played the Osi situation. Gettleman will let this situation play itself out.

i want more cap space. MORE CAP SPACE. CAP SPACE MONSTER HUNGRY!

yeah, this could get addicting.

better this than hurney's gambling addiction on draft day and his perverse agent pleasuring that he did in contract negotiations. that guy needed an intervention....or firing. firing worked.

that said FEED ME, SEYMOUR!!!!!!!!

    • I really appreciate Bill explaining his methodology here because that gives interested parties a chance to try and recreate the results themselves. I believe that it's safe to assume that despite emphasis being placed on WRs that Chuba Hubbard is one of the Panthers' top-5 weapons. Considering targets, yardage, receptions, etc... Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette are also on the list. Jalen Coker's success might have snuck him in there as well. I can't draw a conclusion on who #5 is though. I've narrowed it down to Diontae Johnson, David Moore, Ja'Tavion Sanders, and possibly Rico Dowdle if they're taking into account his production for the Cowboys in 2024.
    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
