What NFL player past or present will Star compare to?

I have heard several NFL talking heads on talk shows saying that Star will be like Kris Jenkins but I have no idea what they based that on.I am admittedly not very good at projecting NFL tackles. It seems much of that dominance you see in college disappears when they enter the NFL. The  thing I did not like with picking Short is we pretty much committed Star as the NT which may or may not be the best position he is suited for.

NT is definitely the position Star is best suited for.

As for which player?  A poor mans Haloti Ngata, which isn't a bad thing by any means considering Ngata at his peak was in my opinion a top ten NFL player.  I don't think Star possesses the raw athleticism of Ngata, though (nobody ever brings him up for some reason in discussions about the best athletes but Ngata is quite the freak athlete; 5.13 40 at 330lbs and was a beast at Rugby).

i wouldn't say a poor man's ngata. i expect him to be on a very similar plane.

I think he can be an equal run stuffer potentially, but Ngata is superior at putting pressure on the quarterback even if it doesn't show on sacks.  Who knows, though, maybe Star improves there.

    • You do, the guy who doesn’t appear to grasp projection.  as the entire board knows, I do in fact, take positions.  The position here I have taken is that Bryce Young is a weak bottom tier starting QB, without NFL starting QB tools, that we must move on from.
    • The OP for one. Asserting that people blamed Bryce for the loss in the title of the thread. That was not the prevailing sentiment at the time this thread was created. Very much a minority thing, I don’t remember but maybe one person if that, putting it on Bryce as the main reason. Troll thread. Did a good job too. Look at the pages.  Someone counting up the draft picks as 10 on offense and 10 on defense or whatever the number was, today or yesterday - of which the offensive ones were heavily 1s and 2s and the defensive picks were heavily day 3 and declaring that proof that the offense wasn’t favored like people claim. The obvious neglect we watched for two years. I spent time refuting that bullshit because someone needed to.  People saying we are bad horrible people and hate poor lil Bryce for no reason, as if it is a personal thing. Constantly.   Along the same lines is people saying we non Bryce fans would rather lose than have him play well and the team wins. That we are mad when the team wins   Point illustrated.
