Hold Onto Your Butts: MKG BEING SHOPPED.

Doubt this happens.  It's too early to bail on MKG.  Dunlap didn't play him enough and I think the potential is too great.   Who would they trade to us (Pistons)?  Monroe?  Drummond?  Those are the only ones I'd be interested in.

Yeah can't imagine the Pistons having anything to give us.  We'd have to give up a lot more than MKG to get Monroe or Drummond I would think.

Probably nothing to see, but it wouldn't be unheard of to deal him.  Weren't the Wolves shopping D-Will (fellow #2 pick) last year at the draft?

I personally value MKG on the same level as Monroe and Drummond because I don't really think we got to see the real MKG.

There was a report that came out from Steve Martin (the Bobcats drunk play by play announcer) that MKG had called Coach Cal multiple times saying that he made a huge mistake leaving UK after one year.

This leads me to believe that MKG wasn't comfortable here last year (which would affect hisbplay) and I attribute that uncomfortability to Dunlap who clearly showed he was not a players coach.

I actually think that MKG has all the tools to be a very good three, very similar to what Gerald Wallace was for us for the longest time.

For what it's worth, the Bobcats beat writer for the Observer (Rick Bonnell) said he would be "shocked" if we traded MKG.

I would take Monroe over MKG every day of the week because it's way harder to find a good big man than a slashing SF.  I know he has potential and Dunlap was, well, Dunlap, but we need a big.

That being said this probably isn't even happening and they wouldn't give up Monroe I don't think.  I wouldn't believe this really but, anything could happen.

Maybe if we were getting a guy like Cousins back? I still don't really like it.

That being said, I can't say I'm surprised considering Cho didn't exactly give MKG a ringing endorsement at the end of the season.

My opinion is that is shot is HORRIBLE but can improve, but I also think he has HUGE potential across the board. We got robbed last season because Dunlap was a blubbering idiot and MKG often times ended up sitting out entire halves because of it. He will make an impact next season.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.

    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
