Panthers to ink Quintin Mikell?

Going to rewatch the Raider, see what's up with Mitchell... Minter was absolutely entertaining to watch, solid player on & off the field....

Been doin a little research to back up my previously said statement, but the Q.Mikell signing would weigh in on my theory. We are going to be seeing some 46 defense, the constant pressure requires good safety play. The 46 was named that not because of 4 lineman & 6 LBs, but it was the safety's jersey number because Buddy Ryan couldn't remember players names.... I'm thinkin the proper adjective for the 2013 Panther Defense will be 'brutal'... 'Relentless' perhaps, but yous get my point...

Woohoo, drunken post is semi-intellligable...

I remember the first offseason with Rivera, that he eluded to wanting to run some elements of the 46 defense. I kind of forgot about that statement, since we haven't had the players to execute it.

I've said it a few times, in this thread or that. The more I think about it the more it makes sense, to me anyway.. Argueably the NFLs greatest defense, Rivera was there, involved. I will have a thread this week, it's the offseason, what else are yous going to read? Fluff? Hernandez? Chico has a plan, he's been the man behind some of the better defensese of the past decade. Our turn is now.... Thanks pantherclaw...

I guess Kerry Rhodes is a pipe dream (perhaps a bad choice of words in this case...), but the only reason that I would want him over Mikell is age, but I think that today, Mikell can bring it as well as the best of 'em, and may ultimately be the better of the two when it's all said and done.

It would be great if we could sign him, but I would be guessing that he at least wants two mil a year on a multiyear contract.

Its funny because people base their honest opinion on something some writer said.

If i remember correctly, many many writers made Cam out to be some dysfunctional QB unable to grasp anything pre rookie season. And many people ate crow because they just assume what they read is true.

Lester could very well be a good player.

    • Through 2 games cltfc has 12 shot attempts. Opponents 23 shots on target. Attack sucks, Defense definitely sucks. Kahlina is the only reason they haven't given up 14 goals in two games.
    • I met a few times--never liked him. I figured he might have had a bad day--but then realized that he must have a lot of bad days. Once he raised his voice at my son because my son did not understand a question when SS was signing his jersey.  I wanted the jersey to represent his encounter with a Panther great, not some small man with a bad attitude.  I told me son, "Forget it.  He was asking you what your name is (My son was about 7 and told me that he thought Smitty was going to write (my son's) name on the jersey.  He said "Dad, I thought he was supposed to write HIS name on the jersey, not mine."  I said, "He was personalizing it, writing it to you--like a birthday card."  He is now grown, and he has a steve smith Jersey that is framed and matted.  He keeps it is his closet.  I asked him, "Why not have that out on your wall?"  He said, "All I remember is an A-hole scribbled on my shirt.  I don't remember a legend or hero.  But he had a Jake Delhomme Jersey on his wall.  "Jake was great.  I will always remember that."  (Jake stayed and talked to us for about 5 minutes or more--GREAT guy.)
    • Is it possible for someone to regress in maturity as they age or has Steve really just been a jerk his entire life?
