I think all of us Panthers fans can agree

i actually think this applies to comment section of everything from youtube to yahoo news articles to espn content. commenters are the walking dead of the internet.

Hell, even the mothership of serious news, cnn.com, is full of that poo.  The anonymity of the internet brings out the worst in people.

It amazes me that we seem to have an issue with it because it's Cam...as if it doesn't happen to others.

Look back and see what gets said on OUR OWN board about one of OUR OWN players, whom the people at Panthers.com agree was "thrown to the wolves" in his rookie season at QB.

If so many here are willing to crap on one of our own players who did nothing wrong other than not be as good as we had hoped...why would some be surprised others who are not in our fanbase would do so to Cam?

In short...dont moan about others doing to our player what the vast majority of the people here have done to another of our own.

Try being a bartender in a sports bar. I literally want to punch assholes in the face every day. I don't know how many times a day I hear "$cam Newton".

He definitely took money from Auburn.

How else could he afford that fake smile?

    • CeeDee Lamb got hurt in week 3. The Cowboys were rolling without him. Not sure what you meant by this. Our defense was the 1st to slow the Cowboys down some. Statistically before the game the Cowboys were ranked in the top 3 of the league.
    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
