Panthers D struggles against the Slant!

I'm sure most you have already seen tonight that the Panthers DBs have been struggling against the slant tonight. Even with the pressure our front 4 is getting to QB tonight. It seems we are getting torch every time with a quick slant. I'm just worried that teams will be doing a lot of that against us in the regular season. What do y'all think about this problem that has hurt our D tonight?

I would hope with the pressure our Dline can generate they will let the CBs play more bump and run when the regular season starts

Fact is we are still playing off 10 yards just about on every play on D. I've seen where the D has played some bump and run. But half of the plays the D CBs have played off the WR. Don't understand why. I'm pretty much at a lose right now.

Quick slants are generally a high percentage pass against anyone.

That's why the WCO works like it does.

Yep.

Risky though once DBs get a feel on it.  Throw an interception on a quick slant, it tends to turn into a Pick 6.

    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
    • Wouldn’t that be something. However, I don’t think anyone is overlooking us right now. (It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to say that. Feels good)
    • You making fun of or not realizing how important that actually is leads me to believe you don’t have either of those assets and are subconsciously upset about it, or you’ve never been in a position to be a leader and thus you don’t value good leadership which Bryce oozes with.
