What year did it become socially acceptable for guys to wear long sleeve shirts with shorts?

I can see doing this if you are deep sea fishing for sun protection. But for any other time, umm no.

 

When did this not so manly phenomenon start? And what dude is responsible for this?

Medium blue long sleeve shirt

Red shorts

Light Green socks up to his knees

Black shoes with Pink highlights

 

 

...and people thought we dressed crazy in the 80's.  lol

if it's cool/cold. i will wear a hoodie or long sleeves and play hoops or soccer until a warm up.

same if riding a bike or going out for a run.

 

but to go out to eat/hang out. meh.

I've done it. My reasoning for doing so I guess is that I don't give a fug what people think about it. I wore it because that is what I felt like wearing that day.

i actually do this on occasion. hoodie or track jacket with shorts. keeps me fresh and warm simultaneously

Long sleeves and shorts and sandals are standard issue for me. But i roll the sleeves up.
