I'm worried about Rivera

Just sat in the press conference. He just had a business as usual demeanor. It seemed he brushed the loss aside saying we lost to a good team, no biggie.

It should be up on Panthers.com soon. I hope I am just reading too much into it.

Nope, Stoic "loser" Ron per usual.

That is exactly why I had to laugh to myself all offseason every time someone mentioned how "the players believe in Ron," completely neglecting the fact that CJ basically said the coaches should've been fired instead of Hurney last season... Then we win some more meaningless games, in which the pro-Rivera crowd sounds the horn again and says how no games are meaningless, we're building momentum for next season! Only to come out and lay an egg in the season opener, AGAIN. Rinse. Repeat.

These players are biased in their opinions as Hurney repeatedly stroked his signature on ridiculous contracts.

But dont get me wrong, Rivera should have been canned.

His record when games mean something speaks for itself. He wins when other teams have quit trying. I have quit worrying about him. Life's too short to worry about inept coaches and ownership.

This. I live too close to the beach to waste my day watching this rerun over and over.

I'll watch it for myself and form a conclusion.

I will say this though. He does not appear to have changed a bit, game management wise. Sadly.

We're playing not to lose.

same thing i saw. he's the same lame coach he was last year. he may have said he learned a lot but he's still doing the same things he was management-wise.

and shula...yeah, he's still the same conservative predictable non-aggressive playcaller he always was.

coaching is holding this team back. yay for continuity.

Did you just compare Brady Quinn going nuts on us to Wilson throwing a single TD on us?

Nope I compared a shitty team wiping the floor with us since you said "its not like we got beat by a shitty team"

It's happened and it's on Rivera.(and will happen again if the past is any indication)

Did you just take up for Rivera after saying Brady Quinn...repeat...BRADY QUINN has went nuts on this team?

LOL

No doubt that played a role, but I'm just saying he threw the coaches under the bus early, but after we started winning games that don't matter other than giving casual fans false hope, everyone got all sunshine and rainbows and forgot about it.

This team knows Ron is a joke of a HC. They even take shots at him now without even knowing it (like how Chud basically ran poo here).

I'm not exaggerating because its our team, but I have never seen a HC as consistently confused and in over his head as Rivera always is.

I really want him to work out here. I absolutely loathe the thought of starting over again at head coach.

But for a guy who barely squeaked by with his job this year, I don't see a urgency or change in him. Disappointing.

I give Shula a pass for now.

He's a fine DC...and I'm sure Gettleman will tend to the issue before too long.(event if it's the end of the season)

too many excuses. not enough urgency. not enough aggression.

    • I am high, but that’s besides the point! The blue line is not good right now. I’ve said it all year. I don’t think this group meshes well. Slaven has been just OK Niki up and down Miller up and down ghost and Walker have been your most consistent guys. Maybe it comes together more towards the playoffs
    • I was expecting to see more cap room moves by now, which may be to suggest that we are not going to be that aggressive.  I have mixed emotions about that (because I think we have 3 needs on D and 3 needs on O--starters).  If you look to the draft for 3 starters, that is ambitious.  We need 6
    • Yeah we shouldn’t be competing with teams, bidding wise, to sign a WR. There will be one for us and our budget.  I keep saying, how many balls will there be to go around anyway? One thing good I will say for this offense is the ball has been spread around at times. Seems like I remember seeing a large number of guys have caught passes in a game. Or been targeted at least. 3 RBs 4 or 5 WRs 2-3 TEs type of stat lines. 10-11 guys.  Not every week but that happens.    As far as WR in general, we need the smaller agile and quicker component to compliment what is there. After that it should be about depth, having good backups for the starters so we can run things consistently still, if a guy is out for a week or two. That is especially important in game where you have to finish the game with who you made active.
