4th and inches

There you see the difference between us and a perennial super bowl contender. Gain 2 yards and win the game or punt and have to stop the other team. Thanks Rivera

Even if you don't get the first down you still have to rely on your D. Might as well go for it and seal the game. I knew when the 49ers went for it on 4th and 2 that they were going to win the game.

I doubt that matters. Harbaugh on 4th and inches would have gone for it if he were our coach today.

Oh, he goes for it on 4th down in his own territory up and with lots of the remaining when his D is dominating.....please share some of the many examples of such

Apples and oranges....

All 4th downs aren't the same....

The scenario is different but so is the mindset. Rivera punts there (see Falcons game last year). Some coaches have a certain arrogance to them. They are going to line up their offense when the game is on the line, and they are going to beat you. Some coaches have the confidence to take a chance. Other coaches punt.

Anyone else just see Harbaugh go for it on 4th and 2, with his team winning. He could have punted there, and pinned Rodgers. Instead he plays to win, and does.

4th and 2 at the other teams 36 yard line is nothing like anything in our game today except for the fact that it was 4th down.

@ the 36 yard line is always no man's land.  That isn't exactly incredible aggressive strategy there

the 49ers were looking at a realllllly long FG if they hadnt went for it. it was the exact same situation just a couple yards farther down the field and more time on the clock

They were also 30 yards further up field, that's a lot more than a couple. That's almost a third of the field.

which play are you talking about? im talking about 4th and 2 at midfield while we had the lead. Ron proceeded to punt and the seahawks proceeded to take the lead for good 12-7. i think there was 8 or 9 mins left
