When can we blame Cam?

I'm not "making this about the quarterback," just pointing out that he missed some chances to break the game open. How about you stop making this game about one play?

I can name 10 other Panther players that "missed some chances" to break the game open....

The only deep throw Cam missed was the one to LaFell. olsen dropped one placed beautifully between two DBs.

And it's worth mentioning the deep throw to LaFell was a prayer in the same style as Wilson's where he had pressure an inch in his face. Wilson's prayer got answered, Cam's didn't.

When can we get out of that state of mind?

We have plenty of chances to be angry this season and into the offseason. I'm pacing myself. Losing is not acceptable but I'm not going to sulk worse than Cam over it. I'm not going to turn on the players I like because they make a bad play. I'm not going to scream FIRE THE COACH as if it will improve our chances of winning this year. Some of you people are unstable. And this is coming from a guy that was shaking in rage with 2 minutes left in the game.

I am probably going to get a good amount of bashing with this post and some may even go as far as to say that I don't deserve a QB like Cam. But, my question is this:

When can we start putting the blame on Cam for holding our offense back? Putting the blame on Cam rather than on the lack of Oline, WRs, running game, and play calling? This is a serious question.

Some guys just have that clutch-ness in them, and in my honest opinion I just don't see it in Cam as of right now. We saw it in Wilson today. The man was pressured all day long and was hit on many different occasions. Wilson still managed to find the way to lead his team in a comeback victory against us in the 4th quarter.

We can defend Cam in every way possible even to the max that he's not Peyton Manning. But nor is Russell, Kaep, or RG3 a Peyton Manning. Though, these guys are able to pick apart defenses when the time is there for the taking. Other than Cam’s two first rookie games vs. Arizona and Green Bay, I have not seen Cam’s ability to pick defenses apart.

In my honest opinion, Cam's lack of clutch-ness and ability to pick apart defenses is what's holding this team back. The game is win and loss by the Quarterback. That's how you differentiate the great from the good, and the good from the bad.

i legitmately want to injure some of you people.

Clearly you don't know the definition of a game manager.

i've noticed lately that there are a lot of idiots throwing around the term "game manager" for anybody who's not in the brees-brady-manning-rodgers echelon as a perennial million yard passer.

yeah 63 combined touchdowns through two seasons sounds like a game manager alright

FYI, Brady was once considered a game manager too... until the defense faded and Bill built a system around Tom.

I didn't punctuate that right. He is a game manager with a rocket arm AT BEST. Meaning with coaching that is all he will ever be, never a sharpshooter. He managed well today, no turnovers from Cam, made a few easy throws.

Cam is a game manager, with a rocket arm at his best he is Kerry Collins who can run....maybe Steve McNair. Take your homer glasses off people, decent thread Chuck.

Both of these dudes didn't have the same kind of stats Cam did in his first two years and both went to Super Bowls.  This argument is almost as terrible as this thread.  This was a terrible thread Chuck.

Yep. And Cam was one of them. The slightest suggestion that Cam might have contributed to our 7 total points and people freak out. Good lord.

oh great so now you're going to do the "well i can't say anything about cam because you cam huggers are going to jump all over me!" routine.

what you said didn't make sense in the context of the game.  you might as well be talking about all the opportunities our front seven missed.

    • I wanted someone to hire him so we got the picks, but I'm also not upset that he'll now be back. I genuinely don't understand why so many fans on here dislike him so much.  No, he's not perfect and made some mistakes this year, especially at the end of the playoff game and going so soft in coverage on the final drive. But considering this place torched him all offseason for us having the "worst defense in NFL history" last year.  Said in the whole pre-draft process how we had to go defense in round 1 because of it and then complained the rest of the offseason that we didn't do enough to improve the defensive roster. How do people say all that about the defense and then complain when he turned that same unit into a pretty respectable defense this year.  They were really the only reason we were in a lot of games for most of the season, as the middle part of the season they really stepped up and were playing like one of the better defenses in the league. I don't see any reason we can't improve even more next year if we spend another offseason focusing on adding pieces on that side of the ball, which we should be able to do with our draft picks and cap space.
    • And they are perfect during the month of February! The fact they're 11th in the league now, but best in the league since Dec 6 tells you everything you need to know.
