Surprise, surprise, we are gashing them on runs from traditional I formation, rather then always handing the ball off on read option.  I don't think people realize how hard it is to get up to speed moving laterally, waiting for the handoff, and then looking for a whole on a handoff out of shotgun, especially when your oline is barley opening any holes.  10x easier to find a hole when you're running downhill and getting the ball for sure.
