The final FG

You guys are delusional. You have to kick the field goal in that situation. Chip Jelly is probably the only coach in the NFL who even thinks about going for it on 4th down in that situation.

Not when you have the worst secondary in the NFL.....and just lost 3 starting DBs in the game.

And have a history of allowing game winning drives

And have a 1 yard pickup machine in Newton

You don't have to kick

ehh, I don't agree.  You've got a beat up secondary that is starting to give, your defense is giving up lots of yards, and whether you kick the FG or you go for it on 4th and don't make it, a TD beats you.  If you convert you basically end the game.  You've got Tolbert and Cam, either of whom can get you 1 yard in pretty much any situation... Go for it.

Look, as I tried to explain earlier. With a 3 pt lead or a 6 pt lead there's only ONE WAY that you can lose the game. By giving up a TD. Adding that three points did nothing to change that. The only way to ensure that you can't lose is by either scoring a TD there or at least getting a 1st down so you can kneel out the rest of the clock.

Instead we went for a FG like a fuging moron and the rest is history.

I said it earlier; Rivera puts too much faith in his D.  His defense has shown time and time again, when put in the position to close it out, they're going to fold.  Not too mention our secondary was already banged up.  It should've had been an easy call to go for it.  Cam is the best thing out there at getting one yard, and the best QB at getting those first downs rushing.  No way Cam would have gone down without getting a 1st in that situation.

The thought process for him should of been..(what RR was thinking) hey we can hold them with our D.  We're up by 3 so hell if we can hold them to a FG then we still win....(What he should of been thinking based on the game)  Hey our secondary is so very thin now.  Our Def has to be getting tired with all the time they have been on the field.....if we get one first down we can come close to running out the clock or hell maybe just maybe we get a TD and seal the game.  seal the game...like win it in the 4th quarter....we actually beat the other team....  no no RR would never try to coach on the fly and not follow his pre planned game plan...

Just wait for the NFL pundits to start jumping on RR for the decision....you're going to have a long wait...because its not going to happen. It was the right decision. If you can make it more than a field goal difference with a buck 30 to go you have to do it.

hehe, glad to see so many agree with me.  The people at the bar at the time were saying "it is the right call, now they have to score a TD."

At least a good percentage of them had the excuse that they were likely drunk and that inhibited their math skills. Rivera on the other hand.....

It was the correct call, considering that Rivera is such a great defensive mind.

No, incorrect call.  Just mentioned this in another post.  Go for it on 4th to put the game away.  No first down, then Buffalo will try to get in field position rather than a go ahead score.

What do you think a coach would do down by 3 with 7 seconds left on the 2 yards line and no timeouts?  They kick a field goal.

Rivera should have thought of this.

Asked if he considered going for the first down, Rivera said: “I did. But again, putting yourself in a situation where you like to believe you’re forcing (the Bills) to do something, and unfortunately it ended in their favor.”
