Anyone else want to lose to the Giants?

Well if he starts winning every game then wouldn't that prove he's learned?

No. Notice I said, "if the players start winning on their own," because that's the only way we'll win a meaningful game while he's still coaching. And I hate that old adage, but it does apply here: a tiger cannot change its stripes. Rivera has had 2+ years to learn and improve and he has not done either, AT ALL. This is who he is.

That's why I said if the players started winning, which is pretty much impossible to do being that the coach makes so many important decisions. If Rivera is making the calls, we aren't going to win any meaningful games. And he will be making the calls.

Again, I'll never pull for us to lose unless it was like one game deciding the #1 pick, lol... I just don't expect us to win while he's here. I want to win, I just don't expect it, and I'm ready for his time here to be over with ASAP.

Fug Rivera and winning 7-11 games a year.

I got higher standards than that.

What? I am seriously hoping that you are just joking at this point. This is embarrassing.

One could argue that a loss will do just that. Addition by subtraction my friend. I'll be in the stands cheering hard for a win, but If Gettleman announced Rivera would be fired if we lose then that changes things. This place would become the happiest place it has ever been after a loss.

I won't accept losing. Never will happen.

As for Rivera being fired. I think he should be at this point. But, I have zero faith in Richardson hiring the right man for the job based on history. So, unfortunately I'm expecting another rinse and repeat type of no name hire for us.

It's a hard call.

After all of Rivera's monumental failures and flops in clutch moments, it is painfully obvious he should not now, nor ever again, be a head coach in the NFL. So what does that leave us with as fans?

Do you pull for us to win each week? Get your hopes up week in and week out, while keeping track of the standings after each loss, just hoping we'll squeak into contention for a playoff spot somehow... And with each week, they push the knife a little deeper until there is no hope left.

The truth is, we know he shouldn't be a HC. So what happens if somehow the players tune him out and start winning on their own and we somehow make the playoffs (which is already statistically about a 12% chance, lol)? Are you saying you'd take one playoff appearance in exchange for a possible extension for Rivera, so we're stuck with him for even longer? No thanks.

I won't ever pull for us to lose, but I just feel apathetic at this point. I watch and hope for us to win, but until Rivera is gone, I fully expect us to lose every week and am pleasantly surprised if we win.

You've really constructed a fantasy world where if they start to win it's only becuase the players have started coaching themselves?

Rivera is gone next year.  We are not going to the playoffs with this sorry offense.  I say lose, so we can trade back in the draft, give our new coach a bunch of picks to turn this thing around.  For those of you who say losing will bring down the players, most of the players we have on this team will be gone when the new coach come in.  Godfrey is gone, our whole secondary (what's left of it) is gone, Beason might be gone, Armanti Edwards/Brandon Lafell/every other guy we falsely built up to be among the greatest Panthers in history will be gone.  Who cares about what they're feeling like in that locker room.  We are starting over, and only the younger players will remain.

So let's talk a little bit about what it means to be a fan for a sec.  Fan of course is short for fanatic.  In short, if you are a fan, it means you are crazy for your team.  Now, there are different ways to be crazy for a team.  One, is to hope for your team to win, even if it ends up hurting the franchise overall.  If not hurting, certainly not helping.  Another way is to want to find the faster way for a bad regime to get out of town.  In this case, hoping the Giants lay the smack down on Rivera's Panthers.  If it meant forcing Jerry's hand to fire Rivera in the bye week, I'm for it.  Again, we aren't going any where with this team.  The Bills is one of the weakest teams we are going to face all season, and if it weren't for two turnovers and a couple of dumb penalties, they probably would have won by a comfortable margin.

Ultimately, wanting Rivera gone by week 4 of the NFL season is another way to show your true fandom.

At this point it's clear to me that this team is not going to make the playoffs.

If they turn things around, then fantastic I'll probably have a heart attack from the thrill of it all.

From this point onward losses don't bother me, and won't unless we get above .500. Losing to Seattle crushed my soul, and losing to the Bills stamped out whatever flicker of life was left. I'm done, and looking toward the future, which will include a new coaching staff and very high draft picks. The more we lose, the higher we draft and the quicker we're rid of RR.

I won't be going into any game this season hoping the Panthers lose. I'll just watch the game with dead lifeless eyes and wait for the  near inevitable loss. We have too many players who are 'football stupid' to expect to beat any team this year imo.

Now when we get close to the end of the season and we're already eliminated from the payoffs, then I'll feel good about the Panthers losing the remaining games for higher picks. Winning at the end of one season doesn't carry over to the next season, and you need to look no further than our own team for evidence of that. High draft picks carry over, and usually make a huge difference the following season.

Have you seen Rivera coach?

And according to the stoic genius himself, we lost all of these games because of execution. Well, if we lost because of the players exclusively, if we win it should all be due to them as well.

I want us to win. But, when we lose I will not be down and out about it because one, we will be one step closer to seeing a new coach and better draft pick and two, we actually are playing a decent team (as opposed to the Bills with a rookie QB). That loss was embarrassing because of that alone.

I'd have said. this is not one of many best food deals in town. Unless you have a brown-rice and organic food only mania. They do have some very nice daily specials barbeque deals, ZenLeaf CBD Gummies for that price each and every here (lunch going for $8 - $12), you're better off taking the elevator into the 4th floor food court for really tasty food for maybe even less. • I don't think the man defense should be done away with entirely, honestly the Rags and (Bruins when they had centers) and the lightning when they had depth are the only teams that broke our man defense.....   Rods not gonna get rid of the man D but it would be nice to see him change it up and play zone 1-3-1 maybe 20%-30% of the time agaist teams that are a bad matchup for man that way come playoffs the guys know how to do it....   It sucks because this season we were a much better matchup for the Panthers than the Rags..... our man D does work vs them (shut them out twice) last year we just didn't have anyone other than aho and necas who were anything close to a scoring threat.    As far as a physical forecheck we rely on a speed forecheck and the only forward we really have that can play with the physicality the panthers do it's Svechnikov....  Looking at the way the roster was built almost all of our skill/scorers are smaller finesse players and although they are physical they just don't have the size to wear guys down physically.   Addon Edit* Rods system really doest play to the strengths of the majority of our scoring talent.... it's why I really don't want to see Necas go, because I feel like he's gonna be 100+ point game changer in the right offensive system....  people always are quick to rag on our guys relatively low point totals.... but I legit think Aho/Svech/Necas are all 100+ point guys in a different system.   If we resign Guentzel I think He Aho and Svech will all score 35+ goals next year and 100 points. I have a feeling Jarvis will be moved to 1C-B aka 2C. And hit about 70.
