I will be updating this thread as the season goes on so we can see how the team is trending on the important rankings. Yes, yes, I know the W-L is the most important stat you nincompoops.

This is for those interested in the trends of the Panthers offense and defense as compared to week 1...

Week 3

Offense

Yards per game - 24th  +4

Points per game - 17st +14

Total Plays - 13th +14

Defense

Yards per game - 10th +4

Points per game - 4th +1

3rd down % - 17th -5

To all of you saying stats are not important... take a look around at all the happy fans, then notice all the green in this post.

How did we drop 5 spots in 3rd down %

yeah, not quite sure about that either.

Seahawks Third Down Efficiency 6/13 - 46%

Bills Third Down Efficiency 6/14 - 42%

Giants Third Down Efficiency 3/12 - 25%

seems like we've done nothing but get better there.

I would assume that other teams in the NFL have just done better on third down than we have since week 1.  Especially with the scoring that happened in week 1, its possible almost everyone in the NFL had bad 3rd down %, and just by normal games happening the past 2 weeks, its starting to even itself out a bit.  Atleast, that is the only guess I can muster.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
