Beason trade saves 705k in cap room

So, its a damn 6th. Thats a huge upgrade.

lemme break it down for you:

1st-2nd: High rounds

3rd-5th: Mid rounds

6th-7th: Low rounds

A sixth is better than a seventh, what's your point?

We cleared up close to a mil in cap room, opened up a roster spot and got a pick for a player who was going to see the bench all season.

And some people are complaining!?!?!

Beason was not going to play here..he was done here.He was going to ride the bench all year then be gone the next. What Some of the crying is about is beyond me unless you wanted to sit Luke down and play him.He can't play the outside period.

Some of you are acting like Marty Hurney. This was good business. The best teams always know when to let players walk.  We did Beason a favor and he was no longer a good fit here.  If we could get something for him, great.  Hey, we found Barner in the sixth round, Munnerlyn in the seventh, etc.

It was good business for us and it was smart for NY.  That is how you trade.  He would not help us and he can help them. His value to us?  7th rounder.  His value to them?  Possible MLB for the next few years.

We are still on the hook for all of the dead money.

Get mad if you want but this is the truth.

His base salary is the only thing the Giants assume, - the 5 weeks we paid for.

For the record. The trade still makes sense simply because his contract was set to void at end of year anyway and was only going to be depth here for remainder of the year.

Yeah....very valuable depth that would serve us well if we were actually looking to make a playoff run.  I agree that if a team is in a rebuilding stage you sacrifice "the now" for "later."   But we want to make the playoffs right?  Depth at LB is nice to have.

Honestly he has played terrible this year. Go back and watch the Buffalo game. I seriously don't think his current level of play is much better than we can get out of Klein or even Senn at this point.
