this isn't a matter of cam being worth 5 first rounders, it's a matter of that's what we would need to improve with a new qb. if you think a rookie qb (bridgewater, for example, as he is a stud and best qb in the class) could come in and ball out with our supporting cast you are out of your mind.

 

point is no QB outside of the big 3 (brady, manning, rodgers) would be successful in our offense. that is a result of our lack of talent and terrible scheme.

If that was a serious offer the Panthers would consider it. With their own pick likely being top 5 it would be huge for a rebuilding effort.

Let's be real, rebuilding is not this team's issue. I gues it will take some of u a few more pathetic seasons to realize that QBs are not hired to be work horses.

that's kinda true, those guys don't need all these said weapons to beat average teams like the Cards or Bills.  with that said, Cam is pretty close to that.

Exactly my point.  A one-in-a-generation type QB makes the players around them better.  No one has to question whether they have enough talent to win.  Does Tom Brady have a bunch of big name WR's to throw to?  No.  He MAKES them big names.  Wes Welker was just some cast off from Miami until he hooked up with Brady.  Peyton Manning does the same thing.  Who the hell was Eric Decker, or Julius Thomas before they hooked up with Manning?  You put a Brandon LaFell on one of those teams and he's challenging for a 1000 yard season.

Peyton is a god. He's an exception to the rule. That said, don't BS and suddenly get amnesia. Manning might have carried his team but did you forget the front office catered to Peyton? Hello?! Wayne, Harrison, James and a stout O-Line? Where's that for Cam? The fact is if you want a juggernaut offense, you have to invest on your QB.

 

I agree with you there.  They have given Cam little help since he arrived.  You can already see he's using Ted Ginn as well as he can.  Smith isn't the player he once was and can't carry the passing attack on his back anymore.  Yet again the Panthers are one step behind where they should be.  Same went for finding the successor to Jake Delhomme some years back.  Maybe the Panthers were too high on Cam and thought he could do it with less and invested in the defense.  It's paying dividends there but not winning any games.

If we thought that Cam intended to get out of Carolina then by all means. Get a new QB, a big OT and a FS/CB in the first.

 

Otherwise no. Cam is the type of QB you build a team around and those are too hard to fins.
