Its naive to think JR waited a week because he was just so unsure. He was testing the market and getting feelers and knew he couldnt get the guy he wanted because of bigger market openings. My feeling is JR wanted Mccoy and knew he would sign with San Diego so instead of just settling, he looked ahead and could see the competition wouldnt be as bad after this season.

Rivera isn't a lock to be fired, it's still possible this team goes on a run. Probably won't happen but all the offense has to do is become more consistent and with the defense playing well.... who knows. I'm wondering if JR does decide to dump RR who would he hire in his place... an up and comer or a guy who has proven he can win...
