Is this D better than the 2003 Super Bowl defense?

The 2003 defense was insane. I remember them blocking FGs, harassing QBs (peyton). If i am not mistaken, we started that season like 5-0. The offense was definitely clutch. I remember how confident I was when Jake got the ball with less than 2 mins. That defense got us to the Superbowl. Not to discredit this current one we have, which is great in it's own sense. If only our O would constantly put up the numbers, we could make a run....

Between what happened in Buffalo, the way we allowed SEA to close out the game when we had the opportunity to get our O the ball back, and how inconsistent our front 4 have been at producing sacks, this D couldn't hold 03's jock at this point.

.....and without the late game heroics of Jake and Kasay.....that D would have been viewed how?

Blocked field goals would be special teams, not defense.

I am sure I know that. I do remember our defensive players such as Jenkins blocking extra points and fg attempts. I would still have to go with the players back then because all they were doing that year and thats not knock on this year's squad

    • lmao that's a good point; but at the same time I think and HOPE Canales learned from how he operated last year, only giving us one real look against the Bills that had people shouting 'Super Bowl'...only to come out flat.
    • I mean the whole defense was trash, he was at least trying. Besides if you put a all-pro among 10 PSers, that all-world will look human. It's very hard to judge very bad units and find the best players among them. Horn and Mjack played well too, there was 0 pass rush and -1777784 run defense.
    • I was looking back and seen Evan Neal has made the switch to OG after awful years at OT.......I wanted him over Icky for his tricep alone..... I was 100% stroud too, I was super pissed about his record setting and playoff leading start......I had arich vastly over the midget BY too. But right now, BY is about the only one on the up&up. The Texans used lots of prime draft capital to help Stroud.  It's still not ready. But if you're honestly about past drafts, these GMs are not alone in making mistakes.  I still feel they should stayed put and allowed Carter to fall in their lap, but best I know Tepper had the worst rage about landing a QB for the past 5 years. The deal is with the correct coaching staff, Baker or darnold would still be here....Baker has signed 3 years for 100 million, which is a great NFL QB contract. Tepper hiring rhule and his shitty Baylor/temple staff was a massive setback given rhule was in control too. Then panic set in an d fitteerererererer had to make a winner and find a QB. Ugh.....I hope they are back...
