Jordan Gross vs Jared Allen

Not sure how closely anyone else has followed, but Gross has always done a pretty good job handling Jared Allen.

From what I saw, yesterday was no exception.

I'll grant that Jordan may not be what he used to be, but he's still pretty good. And from what everyone says, his leadership played a big role in yesterday's win.

So kudos to the Ugliest of the Uglys :)

Yeah. Allen also is getting up there in age, as well, and is missing one of the Williams that made his job easier. He still got a few pressures, yesterday.

What? I tend to agree with you Mr. Scot but I remember Gross losing the game understandingly for us against Jared Allen in 2011.

With a guy like Allen, if your summary for the game is 'a couple of pressures', that means he was handled.

Only time I saw Allen near cam was when cam ran around him for the first down, and in that case cam ran into the pressure

Gross did a good job against one of the better pass rushers.  Despite several posts, Gross is a quality LT and we are lucky to have him.  He did a good job against Williams too when Bell was being taken to the shed.

 

I am in the minority but I like the left side of our O-line.  Wharton was a cap-casualty when he left the Panthers.  Kalil, Wharton and Gross is solid.  It is the right side that I worry about.

Right side is not bad with Scott and Bell. We ran the ball pretty well on the right side ...which seems to be their strength anyways. 

 

If we can get 1 more Guard for depth and start using Williams in 2 TE set  we can run the ball even more effective.
