Takeo Spikes: Panthers’ Fans Better Appreciate How Good Cam Is

Takeo on Cam:  Panthers fan, I have been through a ton of QBs. Trust me. Don’t even think about bailing on this guy. It’s very hard to find even a decent QB in this league. Cam has gotten better over the last two weeks. When you win you get confidence but you get confidence from others when you play mistake free football like he did Sunday against Minnesota

Speaking the Gospel.

He also speaks very highly of Luke, said he's in his "top three white guys"(A locker room joke with OLB Jared Johnson) that he would start his defensive team with. Sean Lee was his top candidate, but now Kuechly is.

Man a comment like that in reverse would lead to a media explosion and Jesse Jackson on your doorstep.  What a world we live in.

I think football players joke with each other like that all the time.

Plus, I've been watching Takeo since his first game at Auburn in 1995.... he's a baaaaaaaaaaaaad man.

    • Joe Person   @josephperson · 16m     Panthers become the 1st team this yr with 5 weekly winners: Rico Dowdle, Ryan Fitzgerald, Sam Martin, Tre'von Moehrig and Bryce. Panthers last did that in 2017: Cam Newton, Julius Peppers, Luke Kuechly, Jonathan Stewart and Damiere Byrd.
    • Gotta wonder if Smitty's brain has turned to mush with how hard he played in the NFL
    • OK, fair enough--however, since my point was that drafting a QB in the top 10 is stupid, if you consider the players who were not drafted in the top 10 or those who WERE drafted in the top 10 and did not secure starting positions with the team that drafted them, you should see the point.  Is it smart to draft a QB in the top 10 when only 4 are still starting for the team that drafted them.  Next, consider that half of that number, 2, were drafted outside the first round.  Next, there are 4 (Goff, Mayfield, Jones, and Darnold) who are starting on other teams after busting.   That number could increase as Arizona seems ready to move on from Murray, Miami is not sold on Tua, and jacksonville is still waiting for Trevor to start looking elite.  Bryce?   So to answer your question, there are MANY more QBs in the NFL who have busted and become starters on other rosters, were drafted after day 1, or are still on the cusp than the four who have become elite.  I thought that point was made.
