But, I just want to be in the playoffs.  I don't care who we face.  Just get there.

I think the playoff system is stupid, needs to be changed.  Dallas will get in because they will most likely win the division but will probably have a worse record then other teams in the conference

Didnt Seattle get in the playoffs with a 7-9 record a few years back? NFC West was horrible that year, but Seattle did beat teh Saints in the post-season...

That's only cause their division sucked; they won the divison at 7-9.  With the Saints at 6-1, that's not happening for us.

I think we will need to win the division to get in. San Fran will have 1 playoff WC spot. The other goes to us, or Detroit/GB/Chicago. It's that simple

 

I would hesitate to pencil San Fran in ahead of us just yet.  If we beat Atlanta this week, we go to San Fran at 5-3 vs thier 6-2 with a chance to even up with them as well as own the tie breaker.  If by some miracle, we go in and beat them, we own the tie breaker with them. 

 

Keep in mind as well, thier dvision is no cake walk and is much tougher than ours in my opinion.  They also have to go to New Orleans, at Washington (say what you will, but this game is on Monday night and the skins could suprise them), a home game against Seattle, and at Arizona in week 17 (we all know how tough it is to win in that building.

 

I could conceivably see the niners finishing at 9-7 (assuming we beat the and them and they lose the above mentioned four games).

 

I don't think it is likely and I would be shocked if it happened, but I also don't think they are a shoe in.
