Frank Alexander....

So we don't have a game for ten days - let's talk about some non-pressing issues. Apologies if it's been mentioned before. Where has Frank been? Obviously a bad sign that he's been inactive for a couple of games and he's had zero impact during the games he's dressed for. Past two years he's been great as a 'change of pace' pass rusher. If he keeps this up, Hardy's gonna take us to the cleaners. Wonder if this is destined to be another Hurney folly...

Saw him last night applying some pressure but not really getting off his blocks.

"DON'T RESIGN HARDY, FRANK IS THE SAME!"

Hardy's awesome - but he definitely benefits from having CJ over there. CJ is a pretty amazing all-around DE, if you look at the advanced stats from PFF, etc. I'm not sure how'd Hardy would be as a one-man show. Ray Edwards-esque, maybe? He's gonna demand a ton, and I don't think he's going to live up to it. Gettleman undoubtedly knows this but he may have to pay him anyway.

Hardy will not get the jackpot he wants here.  He can read the writing on the wall and sign with a team that will be a perennial playoff team for the next 12 years or test the open market.

I want him to stay, but there are too many upcoming contracts to give him Hurney money.  We can make him a main cog but we cannot afford to make him a made man.

Oh, and Frank is about what Hardy was at the same juncture in their respective careers, without the trouble.  I love Kraken but Hurney screwed us good for the next 3 years.

Dumpster diving coming up.

Can't really and truly tell by the bucs game, there oline was getting away with alot of holds

It was insane the amount holds the Bucs were getting away with.  It was the worst I've seen in a game that I can remember.  It all became clear to me when I saw who the officiating crew was though...Boger's.  Worst officiating crew in the NFL.  I was literally yelling at my computer screen over the holds that were getting ignored.

Can't see how Gettleman, who has spent most of his time with the Panthers trying to renegotiate Hurney's bloated contracts, would increase the team's previous offer to Hardy.

Either Hardy comes to terms with the Panther's offer or he moves on to another team.

There has STILL been nothing even remotely official or reliable that has indicated an offer was made or that Hardy rejected anything.

The Falcons were making moves to snag CJ at the end of his first contract, and we blew them away with a huge contract. Here's hoping ATL doesn't come sniffing around again for Hardy. Finding a guy like Hardy, with his size and speed, you usually have to spend a high pick. I'd rather offer him a favorable (but not CJ crazy) deal. Alexandar should remain a rotational guy imo. Keep Kracken.

    • Agreed.  Unless a DE is a Julius Peppers type, it takes a couple of years to really develope.  I am hoping we can get one to go with Prince and Scourton.  Or another Interior Dlineman might work as well.
    • Great work Dan. This is the first time in a long time heading into day 1 of the draft that I don’t care which way we go.
    • I don't think it's about Bryce's ego. I think it's about Tepper's. Bryce was Tepper's draft pick. Everything that's been done has been to protect the image.  New HC with a shiny contract fired after he loses interest immediately after he supposedly drafted his guy. He can't make an offense for him because he's the QB that fits his style of offense. Bryce's rookie season is one of the worst in history. It was obvious he wasn't ready. He was named starter without any real camp competition. No real preseason reps. Coach keeps playing him despite terrible play.  A new coach and GM are hired on the condition that Bryce is the guy. No searching for a new QB. It's Bryce or else.  Bryce is benched year 2 for multiple games, replaced by Dalton who stunk it up proving he's washed up, then Bryce comes back in after Dalton injures his thumb and finishes the season. Dalton's contract is up, plenty of younger, higher upside FAs available. Dalton is brought back 2 years guaranteed as a "mentor". Jack Plummer, so bad in 24', brought back to camp in 25' and lo and behold, he's still terrible and has no business being on a field.  Other QBs brought in, the most recognizable being Hooker. All those brought in so bad even the PS can't hold them.  And now, after 3 years of bottom tier QB performance, with Dan saying we need to improve our QB room, we bring in a QB that's not passed for over 2500 yards in either of his 2 seasons as a starter, before he's benched and sent to the life of being a backup.  The common denominator in all of this is there's never been any real competition here, even when it was justified. After last year, it's debatable if he's starting QB material. Good moments and horrific moments. From one minute to the next, you don't know what you're gonna get.  So if you ask yourself why some of us feel bringing in KP is a joke, it's because it looks how it's always looked. That everything being done is to prove that David Tepper was right when he made the choice to draft Bryce and everything done since has been to protect that decision. Bringing in another QB with even the potential to challenge Bryce was always out of the question.
