What an awesome D

This is becoming one of the best defenses I have seen in a long time. They absolutely dominated Kaep, and kept the SF run game from ever really gaining momentum.

Still have to give props to the secondary, they have been really sound and have avoided giving up the big plays they would have last year.

I felt relaxed EVERY TIME they took the field.

LOL Well I wasn't. I would just think to myself and wonder when the bad D would appear and mess up. At times this year our D struggle against mobile QBs. Was wondering when Kaep was going to start running on us and burn us down field. But after 5 years of bad seasons. That will do to you every time. LOL

I don't know why but this thread title made me want to share this.

I ended up listening to half this game on my car radio. Why you might ask? Well because my ex decided to be slow today and not get her poo together in time to meet me so we could exchange my daughter. She finally decided to meet me at 5:30. Football be-damned, I only get my daughter 3 days a week and I'm not missing any of that time. So I hop into the car all pissed off and turn on 103.7 the local Panthers Radio Network affiliate here in the Wilmington area and proceed to drive 30 minutes to meet up with her.

In my elation following the Drayton Florence interception that sealed the win I randomly sent my ex (she lives with her new boyfriend) this incredibly inappropriate text. (Complete with an autocorrection of "of" to "if")

Apparently she's been missing the "D".

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
