We've got Klein, Jason Williams and Senn that can back up Blackburn. Connor is more of a MLB. Is Kuechly hurting from something?

 

Or maybe Klein is going to start at OLB, so we need a backup for Kuechly?

One of the benefits of this turnaround is the ability to sign depth because veteran players want to play for a winner and possible ring.

Blackburn was the backup MLB, so if he's out longer-term that leaves a hole there.  Senn and Jason Williams are already behind Klein, so this move makes sense in that context.  I'd think there would perhaps be a more athletic option available than Connor, but I haven't paid a ton of attention to FA linebackers either.

That's my read. Need depth with Klein possibly filling in at OLB for any length of time.
