The Young Guns (Week 12 edition)

A lot of the Bucs are playing to retain NFL starting jobs, or for contracts, or just plain pride. But I think once they realize that they might save that dickhole Schiano's job, they'll probably lay down like sheep for the remainder of the season.

This, the Bucs stand a good chance of being blown up, guys just want good resume footage to show off to potential suitors

Great point. For some reason I was thinking Foles came into the league the year before Cam and not the year after. OP has been edited to add him.

eagles have always been a QB stat friendly team and kelly's offense seems to be no different in that regard so foles may be benefitting a good bit from that, but even then he's looking really good.

i just can't see him giving the job back to vick.

And, to his credit, Vick has been very supportive of Foles.

Maybe Vick is just happy at this point in his career to retain a high-paying job, even if it is as the backup.

seems like a dream job to me. considering the beating he's got over the years as well as the jail time his time on the bench might be welcome.

he won't...

Coach Chip Kelly confirmed Nick Foles will be his starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

Michael Vick (hamstring) is healthy, but he'll be the backup. It's an obvious move as Foles has gone 103-of-162 (63.6 percent) for 1,554 yards with 16 touchdowns and no interceptions on the season while leading the Eagles to five wins in their last seven games. Kelly said he made the announcement because he doesn't want Foles looking over his shoulder if he has a bad quarter or game. Operating the up-tempo offense with supreme command, Foles will be a fine QB1 the rest of the way. After this week's matchup against the Cardinals, he'll face the leaky defenses of the Lions, Vikings and Bears. If Foles shows well and leads the Eagles to the NFC East crown, he'll take a huge step toward becoming the team's franchise quarterback.

Great point made on ESPN, actually showing cam some love....stated hes doing what great QBs do and taking what the defense gives him.....the segment was more about why RG3 and Kap are struggling by trying to do too much and trying to make throws that simply arent there, they also talked about how cam runs in in all the right situaions and uses his legs when he has to instead of a first or second option....Cam has matured ten fold this season and its showing through....lets remember this is only his 3rd year in the NFL, and before that he played 1 single season of big time division 1 football....i think this simple fact shows Cams true greatness and god given ability.....im focused on this season but i cant help but get giddy over what the future holds for our young QB, who i feel will truely revoulutionize the QB position...with more weapons on the outside and an upgraded oline we will literally be unstoppable
