NFC Championship

last time we were in NFC championship, it was in Seattle and didn't go so well.

Being down to your 4th string RB will do that to you. We called him up from the practice squad.

Nick Goings went out with a concussion and we played most if the game with Jamal Robertson as our RB.

Jake played just as bad as he did against Arizona. We got blasted from the start. The key to winning a game in Seattle is controlling the ball/clock. The good news is we are really good at going on 7-8-9-10 play drives eating time off of the clock and taking the crowd out of the game. The same wasn't true in 2005.

I was on the Hawks board and there were quite a few posters giving us respect. They said the two teams they did not want to see in the playoffs was the Eagles and us,

Eagles because their unique offense could be hard to prepare for.

Us because we are a well balanced team with a very good QB and is very physical. Much like them . They said the last two games agai at us could have gone either way and showed tees two teams are very similar,

Have to be able to run the ball...helps many things.

No turnovers.

No Drops.

No stupidness.

Defense front 7 making up fro the back end...smart hard football and Panthers can win against NO and Seattle.

QBs don't like to be hit be it Brees or Wilson or Newton.  Our Oline has to do the job as does the DLine.

these are obvious things but the Panthers are talent deficient in spots they have to make up for it in other ways.

If we make it to end of facing them, I have no worries. Yes they have a good team but so do we. Let's not sale ourselves short. I believe in this team. I remember how hard people were saying it was to beat the Rams on turf and we pretty much dominated them the whole game during our Superbowl run (yes we let them slip back in). The game still has to be played. We have a stout D, a stable of running backs and don't forget that we have Cam who can make things happen if plays break down. In the perfect scenerio though, I would want us to win the south and beat whoever in the divisional round and hope that someone picks off Seattle. Could you imagine a NFC champion game in charlotte? Now that would be nuts and believe it or not, it can happen.

First off, I would love to face them again because it would mean we were well into the playoffs or in the championship game.

But, anyone who would not worry about playing in Seattle is an ill informed fan.  Wilson played an incredible game last night.  He was mobile and incredibly accurate on every kind of throw imaginable.  Sorry, but Cam is mobile for sure, but does not yet possess the touch that Wilson exhibited last night.  We did well when he was in Charlotte to keep him in the pocket and squeeze him and not let him loose.  We will have to duplicate that in Seattle if we plan on winning.  Our run game will be key so I would expect them to concentrate on shutting it down just lke the last couple of teams did, but they eventually lost.

I would say that Carroll will make Cam beat him with his arm.  This can be feast or famine for us.  We will see.  Our D will keep us in the game, but we will have to survive a huge adrenaline rush from Seattle to begin the game.  It will set the tone.  Will be what playoff games are supposed to be and have everyones heart in their throat.  Look forward to having another crack at them but am not completely confident we will walk over them as others are.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
